FECIR aims to offer Chilean and foreign filmmakers a space for dissemination, exhibition and exchange of ideas, promoting audiovisual artistic creation and its relationship with the public. It also gives the commune of Rengo, the VI Region and Country, a space for reflection and recreation around filmmaking.

CONTEST 2020
16th RENGO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2020
1. - DATE AND PLACE OF THE COMPETITION:
It will be between the 01º december and 5º of december 2020, in the city of Rengo, Región of Libertador General Bernardo O´Higgins, Chile.
2. - AIMS:
It offers to the filmmakers of Chile and foreigners, a space for dissemination, display and exchange of experiences and ideas, promoting audiovisual artistic quality. Provide to the community of Rengo, the sixth region and the country, an area of assessment, reflection and scattering around the cinema.
3.- CREATORS:
The 16° version of the RENGO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2020 is organized in association with the Ilustre Municipalidad of Rengo and its Department of Culture, Agrupación PaDanza and Manchas Production.
4. - CATEGORIES OF COMPETITION 2020:
**FILMS MUST BE SPOKEN IN SPANISH OR WITH SPANISH SUBTITLES.
4.1-INTERNATIONAL FEATURE FILMS COMPETITION
International competition of feature films is focused on audiovisual professionals, young directors and independent filmmakers and they must have works with a maximum of 120 minutes.
4.2. - INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FICTION SHORT FILMS
Official competition of short films of the fiction genre. Focused on young filmmakers, film students, graduates of film schools and independent filmmakers and audiovisual professionals who have works with a maximum duration of 30 minutes.
4.3.- INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION ANIMATION FILMS FOR KIDS
International competition of short films. Focused on young filmmakers, film students, graduates of film schools and independent filmmakers and audiovisual professionals who have works with a maximum duration of 30 minutes.
4.4. INTERNATIONAL VIDEODANCE COMPETITION
Official competition of short films of the video dance genre. Focused on young directors, film students, graduates of film schools or independent filmmakers and professionals in the audiovisual area linked to dance. Works with a maximum duration of 30 minutes will be accepted.
4.5.- CHILEAN COMPETITION DOCUMENTARY
National Competition for all those who work in the documentaries area can be made in any format, whether in film, video or other, and with a maximum of 120min. (Short, medium or feature films).
5.- CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION:
5.1. - Entries must be sent to the address and within the time set out in section 8 and 8.1 of these rules.
5.2. - Films in competition may have been made from january 2019 and have not participated in any of the stages of pre-selection or selection earlier this contest.
5.3. - The works received for competition in the various categories will be selected by a jury pre-qualifier, who delivered the official list of participants of the 16° version of the Rengo International Film Festival 2020.
5.5. - COPIES FOR SELECTION
For the stage of selection of the works, the filmmakers can send their films:
A) Access the site http://www.festhome.com register, upload your films and send them to FECIR 2020.
6. - JURY:
It will consist of audiovisual media personalities, arts and culture nationally and / or internationally. Are disabled to be part of the jury persons directly connected with the works in competition.
* The jury's decision is final.
7. - REGISTRATION OF FILMS:
7.1. - The works received that do not meet the conditions of participation and screening requirements will not be registered.
7.2. - You can participate in this competition, works where there is involvement of a member of the organization of the International Film Festival Rengo.
7.3. - For cases not covered by these Rules, the interpretation of the case would be taken by the Organising Committee of the 16th Rengo International Film Festival 2020.
7.4. - The registration of a work implies acceptance of these rules, which includes non-commercial exhibition of films selected in activities of the Rengo Film Festival.
In addition, the organization reserves the right to generate changes in the dates of the programming contest or other that it deems appropriate. Likewise, according to the contingency for COVID-19, the festival may this year carry out an online sample if necessary to carry out the 2020 competition.
8. - SHIPPING MATERIAL AND REGISTRATION DATE:
8.1. - The material (s) work (s), with all required information to your shortlist, should arrive no later than october 15, 2020.
8.2. - The payroll with the selection of films that were to become part of the official competition will be published in the official contest, www.fecir.cl and informed via phone, fax or e-mail to the participant.
