The VER CINE 2024 Festival is a production by Benguela Produções e Eventos Culturais, which aims to:

a] Promote Brazilian cinematography, considering the different genres and formats;

b] Enable exchange for production in all states;

c] Enable democratic access for the Baixada Fluminense public to recent audiovisual production;

d] Disseminate cinema due to its importance in affirming a cultural identity.

The selected films will compete in three distinct categories:

- Best Fiction Short Film;
- Best Short Documentary;
- Best Music Video
- Best International Film

This will be the fourth edition in which the Festival will open space for foreign language cinema. In 2024, the Festival will once again present the FOREIGN PANORAMA SHOW, aimed at screening short fiction films from a highlighted country.
And in 2024 the featured country will be MEXICO.

REGULATIONS

1 – Place and Date
The event will be held in the city of Duque de Caxias, Rio de Janeiro - Brazil, from June 18 to 28, 2024.

2 – Registration

a] the registration period runs from January 2nd to March 15th, 2024;

b] *Short films and **video clips produced in Brazil, in any medium, completed from 2022 onwards may be entered.

c] For the FOREIGN PANORAMA SHOW, short fiction films, produced in Mexico, completed from 2022 onwards can be entered.
Note: For the purposes of this regulation, the following definitions apply:
*Short film: film with a maximum duration of 15 minutes.
** Music videos: Music clips with a maximum duration of 8 minutes.

d] The same director may submit as many works as he wishes.

3 – Selection

a] The Festival’s curators will be responsible for selecting the works that will participate in each of
the categories;

b] The list of selected films will be published until April 15, 2024, on the Festival's official website (www.vercine.com.br).

c] After the selected films are announced, those responsible will be contacted and they will be asked to send additional materials to the Festival's production.

d] All those selected will receive a Certificate of Participation.

4 – DATES
REGISTRATION AND FILM SENDING
January 2nd to March 15th, 2024.

LIST OF SELECTED
Until April 15, 2024.

FESTIVAL
June 18 to 28, 2024.

5 – General Considerations

a] Participation in the Festival may also be through an invitation formalized by the Festival's production team. Invited films will not be subject to the conditions of this regulation and will be shown out of competition.

b] The Festival's production may promote the screening of selected films at a date after the event, in activities of a strictly cultural nature, always communicating in advance those responsible for the works involved;

c] The registered directors grant BENGUELA Produções e Eventos Culturais the right – free of charge – to broadcast photos and excerpts from the film lasting a maximum of 30 seconds for the purposes of publicizing and promoting the Festival.

d] Under no circumstances will fees or screening rights be paid to films selected or invited to the Festival.

e] It is the participant's responsibility to use
third-party images and music in their films, in addition to any conflict arising from copyright infringement.

f] The registration of the work, by any of the available means, indicates full acceptance of these regulations by the person responsible.

g] The Festival production reserves the right to make decisions on all cases not provided for in these regulations.
