INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL
Fourth edition

CENTRAL-DOC, Blackbird Films and Huitzil Multidisciplinary Creation Laboratory A.C. All documentary filmmakers are invited to participate in the fourth edition of the International Documentary Film Festival, which will take place from December 2 to 6, 2019 in the state of Tlaxcala, Mexico. The works will be projected in public spaces, independent, educational institutions and cultural centers, being these local, national or international.

This fourth edition of the Exhibition is accompanied by the theme CULTURE, IDENTITY AND RESISTANCE ... 500 YEARS AGO. A theme that seeks to make visible but above all to claim the role of indigenous peoples through the different documentaries that make up this edition and that are intended to revolve around particular themes such as origins, traditions, territory, language, rights, among many others. . At CENTRAL-DOC we expect documentaries with stories that allow us to question and value what makes us what we are, where we come from and what our roots are.

Only exhibit and proof of participation

1. The Festival has a non-competitive character that aims to show a panorama of contemporary documentary.

2. All filmmakers interested in sharing their work may participate, regardless of their nationality or place of residence.

3. Each participant may submit a maximum of two films, only DOCUMENTAL under the theme CULTURE, IDENTITY AND RESISTANCE ... TO 500 YEARS.

4. Films of fiction, advertising, institutional, video art, video dance, video clips or television reports will not be accepted.

5. The sections of the International Documentary Film Festival are:

• Mexican Documentary: Composed of short films and feature films made in Mexico by Mexican documentalists.
• International Documentary: Composed of short films and feature films made by documentary makers from anywhere in the world.

In both sections the productions can have any of the following formats: Short film (less than 40 minutes) and Feature film (more than 40 minutes).

6. Registration is free.

7. The postulated documentaries must have the copyright (sound and / or visual files) and exploitation of the work and must be registered by the directors or producers representatives, exempting CENTRAL-DOC from any civil or criminal liability presented by third parties.

8. To start the registration process, the representative of the work must register through the FESTHOME platform https://festhome.com/f/central-doc. Registration is not allowed via email.

9. The deadline to register the works is from July 15 to August 15, 2019.

10. The production date of the documentaries must be after January 1, 2018. The organization of the Festival reserves the right to register any material that may be of interest whose production date is prior to the proposal.

11. Works whose language is not Spanish must be subtitled in this language. If you do not comply with this requirement, they will not be taken into account.

12. The inscribed materials will become part of the collection of the Festival, so they can be used strictly for cultural purposes, publicly and free of charge, as well as in other events organized by CENTRAL-DOC, Blackbird Films and Huitzil Multidisciplinary Creation Laboratory AC in Mexico and outside the country prior notice to the person responsible for them.

13. All the documentaries registered will go through a process of curatorship. The list of selected works will be published on October 21 on our official site https://www.centraldoc.com.mx/ and on our social networks https://www.facebook.com/centraldoc/ and https: // twitter .com / CentraldocMN Representatives of these materials will be notified via email.

14. The Selection Committee will be composed of experts in the documentary genre and members of the committee of the organization of the Festival. The failure of the Committee is unappealable.

15. In the event that the documentary is selected, the person who made the registration will be notified no later than September 20 to send the additional materials that are required.

16. Those selected must provide via digital by September 30, the following materials:

• Poster
• Five movie stills in jpg format, minimum 300 DPI
• A photograph of the director in jpg format, minimum 300 DPI
• Synopsis (maximum 350 characters with spaces).
• Data sheet
• Bio filmography of the director (maximum 350 characters with spaces).

• Social networks (Facebook or Twitter), blog and / or website (as available) of the work, production house or producer

17. The presentation of the works implies the total acceptance of these bases and the interpretation and application of them corresponds to the organizers of the Festival.

18. The participant authorizes the organizers of the Exhibition to use up to 3 minutes of the visual material for promotional purposes, or maximum 20% of its duration if the work lasts less than 10 minutes. Likewise, the organizers are authorized to exhibit their work in non-commercial local, national and / or international venues.

19. What is not provided in these bases will be resolved by the organization.
