Festival start: 31 October 2020      Festival end: 31 October 2020

We we would like to invite you to submit your horror short film to be screened at our 3rd horror night “Obacht! (Watch Out!)” and if selected at our ALPINALE short film festival. It will take place on October 31 (Halloween) in the Alpine town of Bludenz in Vorarlberg/Austria and will also compete for our audience award.

The ALPINALE, now in its 35th year, is an internationally renowned short film festival. The annual festival takes place in Vorarlberg over five days in mid-August. This year, we had a record-breaking 900 submissions. 72 of these movies were chosen for the competition, and more than 1300 people attended our screenings.
Many of our team members are regular genre hounds, which is why we have decided to broaden our program with a Halloween horror extravaganza. With the town and region’s support, our plans are to establish it as a regular annual festival and we would be delighted if you were interested in submitting your short to our scream fest. By submitting your movie you are consenting to screen the film at our festival.

Golden (bloody) unicorn for the best horror short film

If selected, we ask you to send us a video file in projection quality until end of September fullfilling the following criteria:

· Burned-in english subtitle (no seperate SRT files please)

· Filesize: max. 50 GB

Subtitles in English or German are necessary. The subtitles have to be burnt in the movie file, no separate SRT files please!

ALPINALE do not pay any fees for the screening of films.

We accept only films which have been produced in the last two years.
