Festival start: 08 October 2015      Festival end: 11 October 2015

Filmmakers: You are the reason we do this. BendFilm puts its focus on filmmakers first, with awards, several of which will be CASH AWARDS.

Several of the categories are JURIED. A short list of some of our past amazing jurors:

· Sharon Badal, Tribecca Film Festival
· Christian Gaines, Withoutabox at iMDb.com
· Dana Harris, editor in chief & general mgr of IndieWIRE
· Tony Award winner, Gregory Jbara
· Jon Korn, Sundance Film Festival
· Betsy Sharkey, Los Angeles Times Film Critic
· Ondi Timoner, DIG! and We Live in Public
· Gus Van Sant, Filmmaker
· Neal Block, Magnolia Pictures
· Lisa Schwarzbaum, Critic and essayist
· Franklin Leonard, Founder of the Black List

Named one of MOVIEMAKER MAGAZINE's 20 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee, the event runs deeper than the marathon film-watching that fills guests' schedules from dawn until, well, dawn. Everyone you see on the sidewalks, in the restaurants and bars makes, cares, or has an opinion about film. It is the serendipitous encounters and ensuing discussions with the filmmakers and fellow passholders that makes the weekend so inspiring, affecting, and infectious.

1) BEST OF SHOW $5,000
2) BEST DIRECTOR $500
3) BEST NARRATIVE FEATURE $60,000 Panavision camera rental package
4) BEST DOCUMENTARY FEATURE $500
5) BEST NARRATIVE SHORT $500
6) BEST DOCUMENTARY SHORT $500
7) BEST STUDENT SHORT $500
8) BEST ANIMATED SHORT $500
9) BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY $500
10) BEST OF THE NORTHWEST $500 (Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana films)
11) BEST PERFORMANCE $500
12) KATIE MERRITT AUDIENCE AWARD $500

Entries may not have been publicly screened or broadcast in Central Oregon prior to the 2015 festival dates.

Films previously submitted to BendFilm will not be considered unless they are substantially altered. Full application and fee requirements will apply.

Filmmakers should be prepared to submit a final copy of their film to be available for screening on or before August 1st, 2015.

Instructional films, industrials and promotional videos are not appropriate for submission.

Work accepted to screen at the festival will be categorized in competitive and non-competitive categories at the sole discretion of BendFilm. Films with major distribution may not qualify for juried competition, but would still be eligible for audience awards.

Films submitted will be notified of their selection status on or about September 15, 2015. If accepted, an additional final cut DVD of the submitted work must be provided to BendFilm September 30th for archival purposes.

By submitting their entry, the entrant guarantees that they have obtained all necessary rights and clearances, and that they have legal right to publicly screen and enter their entry into BendFilm.

----------

SHIPPING & EXHIBITION

BendFilm is not responsible for damage or loss of submission or exhibition materials en route to BendFilm. Please package materials appropriately.

Do not send DVDs in fiber filled envelopes. The fibers threaten the lives of your media and our machines.

Each film must be entered separately. Do not include multiple works on the same tape or DVD.

BendFilm requires 3 (THREE) and preferably 4 (FOUR) DVD copies of each film.

All costs associated with the subtitling of a film shall be the sole responsibility of the producers of that film.

The cost of shipping submission and exhibition materials to BendFilm will be paid by the entrant. All films being sent from outside the United States must be sent "free domicile" to the BendFilm office, with all transportation charges, duties and taxes prepaid by shipper. BendFilm will not handle customs clearances. Please be sure to include all of the proper customs documentation required by your shipping service.

BendFilm will not cover return shipping to the address designated as the Print Source, or to another festival or destination within the continental United States via ground shipping. BendFilm cannot cover shipping, or ship US films to an address outside the United States.

All entries will be insured against damage or loss while participating in the BendFilm Festival, although BendFilm will not assume responsibility for damage to originals, special prints or masters. Please do not send originals, special prints or masters.

Our objective is to show your work in the way you intend it to be shown. Please let us know exactly what you have in mind and we will be happy to work with you in an effort to achieve your presentation goals.
----------

FILMMAKER ATTENDANCE

Should your film become an Official Selection, we want you at the festival. Please confer with the BendFilm office should travel or accommodations be an expense you can't shoulder. It is likely we won't have any money either, but you'll find us adept in improvising travel and shelter arrangements -- and we'll do whatever we can to help get you to Bend.

-----

ADDITIONAL RULES

Unless otherwise indicated, your Official Selection will become part of the BendFilm Lending Library Program. This is a free service BendFilm offers our members. If you would like to opt out of our Lending Library Program, your specific request will need to be received in writing by October 1, 2015.

The screening schedule including venue, time and number of screenings is at the sole discretion of BendFilm.

If the entry becomes an Official Selection and/or wins a Jury or Audience Award, BendFilm requests that this be noted on all promotional materials.

All entries must be judged, at the discretion of BendFilm, to qualify as "independent".

BendFilm may deny acceptance of any film at its sole discretion.

No person involved in the production or distribution of a film submitted for consideration may be on the BendFilm staff, Board of Directors, selection committee or jury.

BendFilm reserves the right to complete any information not legibly supplied by the entrant from any available source and will not be responsible for incorrect information.

Entry fees will not be refunded.

Submission to BendFilm equals acceptance of all terms articulated in entry process.
