ANTOFADOCS, Antofagasta International Documentary Film Festival, is a gathering instance for national and international filmmaking, based on this premise we would like to contribute to:
Foster Documentary development in order to promote activities linked to the arts and audiovisual Industry, including all relevant actors: filmmakers, distributors, exhibitors and the general public nationally and abroad.
- International feature film Competition: eligible works concluded during the years 2014 / 2015; spoken or subtitled in Spanish; of a minimum of 50 minutes; and available for screening in the formats required by the Festival.
- International short film Competition: eligible works concluded during the years 2014 / 2015; spoken or subtitled in Spanish; of a maximum duration of 30 minutes; and available for screening in the formats required by the Festival.
- New languages Competition: eligible productions experimental, innovative narrative techniques of language audiovisual, hybrids and video creation. Works completed over the years 2014 / 2015; spoken or subtitled in Spanish, of a minimum duration of 5 minutes and available for screening in the formats required by the Festival.

1. FESTIVAL OBJECTIVES
ANTOFADOCS, Antofagasta International Documentary Film Festival, is a gathering instance for national and international filmmaking, based on this premise we would like to contribute to:
● Promoting Documentary Filmmaking as a tool for cultural and social transformation and to benefit all of Antofagasta Region residents.
● Foster Documentary development in order to promote activities linked to the arts and audiovisual Industry, including all relevant actors: filmmakers, distributors, exhibitors and the general public nationally and abroad.
2. FESTIVAL DATES
The fourth version of the Antofagasta International Documentary Film Festival,
ANTOFADOCS 2015 will take place from November 3 to 7, in the city of Antofagasta.
3. PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES
National or International films produced in 2014 / 2015 are eligible for entry.
4. COMPETITIVE CATEGORIES
International Feature Competition. Are eligible all films completed in 2014 / 2015 in Spanish language or with Spanish subtitles, 50-minute length minimum and available for screening in the festival approved formats.
International Short Film Competition. Are eligible all films completed in 2014 and 2015 in Spanish language or with Spanish subtitles, 30-minute length minimum and available for screening in the festival approved formats.
New Languages Competition. Productions with Innovative experimental audiovisual language narrative techniques, hybrids and video creations. All works completed in 2014 / 2015, in Spanish language or with Spanish subtitles, 5-minute length minimum.
5. ENTRY PROCESS
Those applying for pre-selection must register their films on the Online Entry Form on the festival website (www.antofadocs.cl), until August 7, 2015.
Pre-selection screenings will be available through a password accessible link (see entry form), or via the Festhome online platform.
All entrants in any of the competitive categories will go through a pre-selection process by a jury integrated by members of the national audiovisual industry.
Film copies sent for pre-selection will remain in the Antofagasta International Documentary Festival (ANTOFADOCS 2015) Video Library and can be used for festival promotion.
6. PRE-SELECTION
The registered films will be evaluated by ANTOFADOCS programming staff. Their role will be to define the films in competition.
The Festival will publish the results of the pre-selection film title listing for competition on our website (http://www.antofadocs.cl), no later than October 1, 2015
The PROGRAMMING TEAM decision is final and is not subject to appeal.
8. SELECTED FILMS PROCESS
8.1 Screening Formats. Selected films need to be available for festival screening in the following formats: Mini DV, DVD, Blu Ray or DCP.
8.2 Shipping – all entrants must send by mail 2 copies of the film in any of the approved screening formats to:

International entries, please add – Cultural Contents, No Commercial Value, Not for Commercial Purposes- please ensure that postage is fully paid, the festival will not accept payment on delivery or pending custom charges.
b. Entries must arrive at our offices no later than October 12, 2015.
c. If films do not arrive by the specified deadline, the organization reserves the right to eliminate the film from the competition.
8.3 Insurance
The festival will not be responsible for damage or losses during copy transit.
In case of serious damage or losses during the festival and while copy is in our care, the organization will accept responsibility for replacement costs.
9. PARTICIPATION
Selected films will be screened during the Festival festivities in Antofagasta on November 3 to 7, 2015, according to the final programming and after the results of the pre-selection jury.
10. SCREENING RIGHTS
Those selected for competition authorize the festival for screening the film within the Festival time frame, and up to 3 extra screenings for the festival itinerant program.
The right owner grants ANTOFADOCS rights to use the film for this purpose free of charge.
11. SCREENING COMMITMENT
Once the film is entered and selected, it cannot be withdrawn from the competition.
12. AWARDS
The jury for each category will be people linked to the national and international audiovisual industry. They are forbidden from entering films in competition.
Each category will have a jury of integrated by at least 3 members.
The jury decision is secret and the votes will be counted via simple majority.
Jury members commit to reserving their opinions regarding films in competition in public, prior to the official award ceremony.
Any resolutions not covered in these guidelines will be reviewed by the Festival Direction and resolved accordingly.
The jurors in each category will make a ruling not subject to appeal, bestowing the winning films with ANTOFADOCS top awards and prizes.

13. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
The festival will announce the winning films at the award ceremony at the end of the festival. The film producers that receive an award or acknowledgment commit to mention of the festival in all film promotional material and related press coverage.
NOTES
Shipping Costs are the sender’s sole responsibility. The organization will return the copies in the official competitions.
The festival direction has established that the Jury in any of the competitive categories must award all prizes.
The amount of dollar awards will be given in equivalent national currency at the time of the award.
The amount of the awards covers shipping costs via Western Union or the equivalent; these charges will not be deducted from the prize money.
14. ACCEPTANCE OF REGULATIONS
Entry of a film in the festival guarantees the use of parts of selected films only for festival promotional purposes in television or any other circuit.
The selected films will be kept in the festival video library. Future showcases or activities that consider the use of this material will be able to do so only for non-profit activities and previously authorized by the Production Company or director.
By filling the entry form with all the required information, the applicants agree to participate and accept being a true representative of the filmmakers. Submitting an entry form is considered as acceptance of all festival rules and regulations hereby explained.
15. COPY RETURN
Selected films’ copies will be returned within 30 days from the festival last day. For awarded films, one of the two copies submitted for competition will remain for festival exclusive use.
