Applications for the Festival are open for fiction, animation, documentary and experimental short films from around the world, as well as for feature films (fiction & documentary) from Latin American countries.


All productions must have been completed after January 1, 2016.

All the works that participate will be presented in original version. Where it may be a language other than Spanish, necessarily will be presented with subtitles in Spanish.

The Oruro International Film Festival is headquartered in the city of Oruro (Plurinational State of Bolivia).

The city is known for its cultural and folkloric wealth, being the Oruro Carnival its greatest expression. This Carnival, which annually gathers thousands of national and international visitors, was declared in 2001 as "Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity" by UNESCO, thus recognizing the multicultural and religious value it expresses.

The Festival, whose seventh edition will be held from November 5 to 10, 2018, aims to recognize and disseminate national and international cinematographic works that show strong artistic, aesthetic and human values.

The Oruro Film Festival recognizes talent with the "Diablo de Oro" Awards.

REGULATION
The 7th Oruro International Film Festival will take place between November 5 and 10, 2018 in the city of Oruro, Plurinational State of Bolivia.

REQUIREMENTS AND ELIGIBILITY
Applications for the Festival are open for fiction, animation, documentary and experimental short films from around the world, as well as for feature films (fiction & documentary) from Latin American countries.

All productions must have been completed after January 1, 2016.

The inscription of films to the Festival is done through FESTHOME.COM.

Final Deadline: The producer who holds the rights must register the film to the Festival, before August 31, 2018.

The registration through the official platforms will have the character of an affidavit. When registering, the interested parties declare to know and accept these regulations.
Producers and filmmakers of Bolivian nationality will be able to register their works free of charge.

No film will be officially registered until the Festival receives the online pre-selection copy.

In the case of films spoken in a language other than Castilian, pre-selection copies with subtitles in Spanish (preferably) or English may be sent.

The Festival does not require premieres but will give priority to films that have not been shown previously in the Plurinational State of Bolivia.

Once registered and selected, the film can not be withdrawn from the Festival's program, nor can it be shown in any other event in Bolivia before its official presentation at the ORUROFILMFEST.

SECTIONS

The Festival's programming will include competitive and non-competitive sections. Scheduled films will be included in the section that the selection committee deems appropriate.

For the selection, its duration will be taken into account: The festival considers a feature film a minimum duration of 41 minutes and for a short film up to a maximum of 40 minutes.

The Festival will include two competitive sections:

-International short film competition: National and international fiction, animation, documentary and experimental films of 40 minutes or less are accepted.

-Latin American Feature Film Competition: Fiction, animation, documentary and experimental films made by filmmakers and / or Latin American producers with a duration of 41 minutes or more are accepted.

SELECTION
The Selection Committee will be integrated by ORUROFILMFEST members, who will carry out their work according to the parameters of quality and creativity previously set by the Festival Management.

In all cases, the projection copies will be sent over the Internet. The deadline to receive these copies will be October 5, 2018.

In case the film is selected, the person who made the registration will be notified and will be informed about the instructions for sending the projection copy through the official platforms of the Festival.

In addition to the screener, selected participants must upload the following materials:
-2 (two) film stills, 300 DPI. Size 10cm high by 15cm wide color. JPG format
-1 (one) photo of the director / s, 300 DPI. Size 10cm high by 10cm wide color. JPG format
-Director's Bio filmography (maximum 450 characters with spaces). In the following format: NAME + 450 characters
-Sinopsis of the film (maximum 600 characters with spaces).

In the case of films spoken in a language other than Spanish, they must provide us with a .srt file with the subtitles in Spanish (with time codes) that coincides with the cut of the film's projection.

FINAL CLAUSES
The organization of the festival presupposes that the producers or directors who register through this call have the right to exhibit their works. Thus, the ORUROFILMFEST is exempted from any civil or criminal liability.

The people linked to the selected films undertake not to disseminate their participation until the Festival's programming is announced by the Organization at a press conference.

Participation in the Festival implies acceptance of these regulations. Any conflict not foreseen in these regulations will be resolved by the organization of the Festival.

The presentation of the films implies the total acceptance of these bases. Its interpretation and application corresponds to the ORUROFILMFEST organization.
