International Edition of Short Films – 5th EDITION
2020, 20 – 23 August | Farm Cultural Park, Favara – Valle dei Templi di Agrigento


The SicilyFarm Film Festival was created with the intention of bringing a cinema elite outdoors in the heart of Sicily, in two extraordinary places like Farm Cultural Park and the striking Valley of the Temples in Agrigento. The themes in the works of filmmakers from around the world are manifold: Rural development in the poorest countries, welcome, people and places that seek to change the world, cultural and technological innovation.

The Va Edition SicilyFarm Film Festival is the production of short films capable of telling, with little discounted languages, "stories of change" exciting and engaging.

The Main Partner of the Festival is the IFAD, an international financial institution and a specialized agency of the United Nations based in Rome. IFAD invests in rural people, putting them in a position to reduce poverty, increase food security, improve power quality and strengthen their resilience. IFAD provides to countries at concessional rates and donations development loans. also it mobilizes financing from some of its member states by developing countries and the beneficiaries of the projects. The Archaeological Park and scenic Valley of the Temples is covering some 1300 hectares and here belong the remains of the ancient city of Akragas and the surrounding area to the sea. The Valley of the Temples was declared in 1997 by UNESCO "World Heritage Site." Today the Valley of the Temples has more than one million visitors a year.
Farm Cultural Park is an Independent Cultural Center was born nine years ago and is now a stunning example of Territorial Sustainability.

The goal is not only to raise awareness of the common opinion of those people and those places that are rethinking our future, but also to promote proactive behavior with respect to the transformation of our society.


SicilyFarm Film Festival will take place from August 20 to August 23 at Farm Cultural Park – Favara and Valle dei Templi – Agrigento.

There are seven categories selected for the festival, just like the number of courtyards involved during the Festival period. The different themes will give more space to many more artists within the festival.

Only works created from January 1st 2018 will be accepted.

The categories are as follows:

• Short theme free: Section dedicated to short films that narrate fictional films or videos without preclusions of styles, genres and techniques of realization. The maximum duration will be 20 minutes including the opening and closing credits.
• Short / Documentary IFAD Theme: Section dedicated to short films / documentaries that tell stories on agricultural and rural development in rural areas of the Middle East, North Africa and Europe in which IFAD. It requires focus on nutrition and food security, agriculture, climate and environment, gender inequalities in rural areas, nutrition, rural youth and indigenous peoples.

The maximum duration will be 20 minutes including the opening and closing credits.

• Short-documentary: Section dedicated to authors who dedicate their art to documentary language, without preclusions of styles, genres and techniques of realization. The maximum duration will be 20 minutes including the opening and closing credits.

• Videoclip: Section dedicated to artists and directors who make music videos, a very different film language from the other sections. This space will give space to both the authors and the bands presented. The maximum duration will be 6' including the opening and closing credits.

• Short Film Animation: Section dedicated to all the short films realized with the animation technique. Each theme and every type of story is part of the parameters as long as it is told with the animation. The maximum duration of the works will be 10' including the opening and closing credits.

All entries must be received no later than the expiration date, May 31, 2019 at 23:59

Each participant can enter up to 5 works.
Works for pre-selection must be submitted exclusively through specific platforms: Festhome, or through email to .

Using the e-mail you can send a downloadable private or public Youtube/ Vimeo link or send the file in Full HD (1920x1080) via WeTransfer.

Whether you submit through the Festival website or by email, a completed and signed Application Form for each work must be sent by email.

Registration is not valid if the Festival board does not receive both the payment and the Application form. Sicilyfarm’s Staff disclaims any liability for copyright infringements in works submitted by participants, for the reproduction of shorts containing material covered by copyright and rights not paid to SIAE or any copyright holder.

By signing the disclaimer, all liability falls on the author \ director \ producer.

A jury made up of journalists, audio-visual professionals will express their preference for the winner of each category. The jury also reserves the right to assign any special mentions and ex aequo prizes.

Movies with text in a foreign language must have subtitles in Italian or english, except for the category Best Videoclip.

Inlcuding two pictures or a poster representative of the submitted work is appreciated when you sent the email with Application Form for free use in the promotion of the Festival

Each author, signing the disclaimer, gives the consent to the use of some images of their works for the promotion of the Festival. The films will become part of the archive of the SicilyFarm Film Festival. However Sicilyfarm’s Staff is committed to use them to promote the festival for cultural purposes only and under no circumstances commercial.


The works and names of the selected authors will also be communicated in the Official pages of the social networks and on the website The winners or their representatives, if they do not have the possibility to collect the prize, can receive it by paying the shipping costs.
After the deadline of the announcement will be provided details and conventions on the structures on site for the hospitality of the finalists of the Festival. The management will carefully follow the travel arrangements for the participating finalists. During the duration of the Festival, the artist will have the opportunity to present his work during the interview reserved to each author before the public screening during the evenings. This presentation will then be published on our channels.
The registration and participation in the Festival imply the complete acceptance of this regulation and the registration form. For each exception not envisaged in this Regulation, the management reserves the right to take final decisions.
