May be entered all national and foreign works, without having to present a minimum or a maximum duration, completed in the period 2016-2018 and can be accepted any proposals that address the choreography from any audiovisual support, regardless of whether they have further a documentary or animation character, to mention some of the visual and aesthetic possibilities.

The International Festival Videodance Mexico City comes under the concept of creating a meeting point and open and inclusive discussion among public, filmmakers, theoreticians and other professionals dance and visual arts. Its purpose is to be a showcase for the dissemination of contemporary quality proposals that address the choreography from cinematic language.

The Mexico City International Videodance Festival, in colaboration with Red Nacional de Arte, calls choreographers, filmmakers, groups, companies and artists in general to register their works in the competitive sections of the third edition, which will take place from 20 to September 23, 2018.


All national and foreign works can apply. There is no minimum nor maximum duration, the works should have been completed during the period 2016-2018. Any proposals that address the choreography from any audiovisual form can be accepted, regardless of whether they have further a documentary or animation conception, to mention some of the visual and aesthetic possibilities. Screendances registered in past editions of the Festival will not be able to participate. For the third edition will be accepted screendances in Virtual Reality.

All works can be registered to the online videodance selection which will be shown on the official website of the festival (videodanza.rednacionaldearte.com) during the event dates. This selection can not be subject to competition. The registered pieces will be considered for the award only on the national or international category.

For the presentation of works must use the FilmFreway or Festhome platforms. Works will be received from the time of publication of the call and until 11 p.m. on August 2, 2018 (Mexico City, Central Time).

The registration fee for each videodance is 14 USD.

90% of the profits earned by the registration fees will be used to award the best national and international videodances. The bag will be distributed equally to the two winner works. In case of any of the winners do not claim their prize in the next 5 months, it will be understood that they waive it and can be used to cover the expenses in the next edition of the festival.

Participants may submit up to 4 works for consideration. The works to form part of each section will be chosen by a selection committee, whose decision is final.

In case the number of projects registered in any section were not sufficient to award a prize, the category could be declared as deserted, and the fees will be divided equally into all other categories.

Selected works could be part of national and international exhibitions during 2018 and 2019. By participating, the applicant also accepts the use of frames or segments of the piece registered for the dissemination and development of printed or electronic materials such as invitations, posters, postcards or virtual catalog.

The list of selected videodances will be published in the official website of the festival on August 18, 2018. Each participant selected will be contacted by email.

Registration of works to the Festival constitutes acceptance of the rules of this call and renunciation of any claim or legal action against the Festival, Red Nacional de Arte, their representatives or affiliates.

Any matter not specified in this call will be resolved by the organizers.
