This edition is open to all artists who submit their work in any of the official languages in
the Valencian Community: Spanish or Valencian.

Short films shot in any other language may be submitted provided that they are subtitled
in one of the two official languages in the Valencian Community. Dubbed short films will
not be admitted.

A maximum of 1 work by each artist will be admitted. This work must have been
produced between October 1st, 2016 and September 30th, 2017.

Works of an advertising or institutional nature will not be accepted.

The maximum running time for a work is 20 minutes, including credits.

The theme may be any subject.

CineCulpable is the Vila-real Short Film International Festival. In 2017, we arrive at 20th edition.
This edition is open to all artists who submit their work in any of the official languages in
the Valencian Community: Spanish or Valencian.

Best Short Film Award: 3,000 €
Best Provincial Short Film Award: 1,500 €
Best Short Film in Valencian: 600 €
Best Direction: 600 €
Best Actor: 600 €
Best Actress: 600 €
Audience Award: 900 €

Vila-real Short Film International Festival 2017


This edition is open to all artists who submit their work in any of the official languages in
the Valencian Community: Spanish or Valencian.

Short films shot in any other language may be submitted provided that they are subtitled
in one of the two official languages in the Valencian Community. Dubbed short films will
not be admitted.

Short films completely shot in Valencian are eligible for the Best Short Film in Valencian
Award. Dubbed and/or subtitled short films will not be taken in consideration, as this
award tries to promote the Valencian language. Bilingual short films having Valencian as one of their languages will also be taken in consideration for this award.

All short films, regardless of their genre and origin (local, provincial, national or
international origin), are eligible for the highest award in the Best Short Film Award.


The Festival will consist of:

2. Best Provincial Short Award
3. Best Short Film in Valencian
4. Best Direction
5. Best Actor
6. Best Actress
7. Audience Award


REQUIREMENTS

All short films must be submitted on DVD, regardless of the original format (film
or video).

A maximum of 1 work by each artist will be admitted. This work must have been
produced between October 1st, 2016 and September 30th, 2017.

Works of an advertising or institutional nature will not be accepted.

The maximum running time for a work is 20 minutes, including credits.

The theme may be any subject and the works allowed to take part in the competition will be those selected by the Selection Committee, which will be appointed by the Festival Management.

All copies not meeting minimum technical standards for their subsequent showing
will be rejected. Likewise, all works not meeting every requirement and specification laid down by these rules will be rejected.

People in charge of the organization of the Festival are not allowed to take part in
the competition.

Out of competition, in OFFCINECULPABLE, the Festival Management reserves the right to screen those works which are considered of high-quality but have not been selected for the Film Section or the Video Section.

OFFCINECULPABLE will screen those works which may be nominated for any award other than Film or Video.


ENTRY AND SHIPPING OF PRINTS

Short films must arrive until September 30th, 2017 at the following address:

Prints must be sent in a cover, clearly indicating the title of the film and the
author’s personal details. It is essential for the print to be accompanied by:

– The entry form (properly completed).
– A photocopy of the director’s identity card or passport.
– A photo and curriculum vitae (5 lines maximum) of the director.
– A brief synopsis.
– Short film festivals where was presented and awards wont.
– 2 printed photographs of a sequence of the short film (by e-mail or in DVD the images must be: JPG 1000 x 1200 pixels and 300 ppp).

All shipping costs must be paid by the applicant.

The Festival will not take any responsibility for any possible loss or damage works may suffer while they are being shipped.

The works and the rest of the sent items will not be returned. They will become part of the Festival Film Archives of the Regidoria de Joventut, which may show them in all those activities it considers right to. If any contestants would like to have their short films returned, they would have to provide a copy first to the Festival Management and then pay for all the shipping costs.

The following economic awards are established, along with the CINECULPABLE
Festival statuette:

Best Short Film Award: 3,000 €
Best Provincial Short Film Award: 1,500 €
Best Short Film in Valencian: 600 €
Best Direction: 600 €
Best Actor: 600 €
Best Actress: 600 €
Audience Award: 900 €

The Jury and the Festival Management reserve the right to leave any award void, in
accordance with the artistic and technical quality of the short films.

The Festival Management reserves the right to resolve any unforeseen event in the way it
