Cellar Door Film Festival (CDFF) is Ottawa’s first showcase of speculative cinema, which celebrates the creativity of the Ottawa film scene and spotlights the city as a setting for the sinister and supernatural. CDFF encourages film culture, education, and production in Ottawa by promoting the creation, screening, and distribution of local, national and international films in the Nation’s capital.

Audience Awards for Short Films and Feature Films

-Only films made within the speculative genres noted above will be considered.

-CDFF will give equal consideration to local, national and international films.

-Entries must be available for screening at the festival on DVD, Blu-Ray, or digital file (upon agreement with the festival programming team).

-All films must either be in English or include English subtitles.

-Misrepresentation, incorrectly completed entry forms, or missing information may lead to the disqualification of your submission.

-If your film is selected for screening, CDFF reserves the right to promote it in media campaigns and to reproduce the film for internal and/or promotional use.

-Films should be Ottawa premieres, meaning they have not been previously screened in Ottawa prior to the festival date. This includes, but is not limited to, theatrical screenings, broadcast, online, and other public exhibitions.

-Please note that any paid public exhibition in Ottawa or public online broadcast following the submission may void acceptance in the festival. Please contact the CDFF programming team at cdff.programming@gmail.com with any questions pertaining to eligibility.
