The Iquique International Film Festival was founded in 2009, finding to create a platform of cultural cooperation.

This is a free event and we try to expand the cinema to people that does not have access to comercial cinemas.

During these eleven years, we have created a place where the audience can access to see different kind of films, assist to workshops, and lectures with authors, filmmakers, producer, scriptwritter, and all kind of audiovisual workers.

The awards will be announced closer to the event dates.

ENTRY RULES 2019


IQUIQUE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL FICIQQ, produced by KINOFRAME FILMS is pleased to announce the release of the rules of official competitions for FICIQQ 11.

2019 ENTRY RULES

All official information will be posted on our website www.festivalcineiquique.com official Facebook www.facebook.com/festivalcineiquique and associated media.


1. - GENERAL CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

Described below are the general conditions to be met by participants in all categories of FICIQQ 11

1.1 Can participate all audio-visual works completed after January 2019 except in the case detailed in Section 2.1-, whether professionals, students and amateurs.
1.2 Shall comply with the requirements of each jurisdiction, as specified in sections 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, and 2.4; in addition to completing the registration information set out in point 3.
1.3 The works may not be published for display on the Internet or have been released in the city.
1.4 Works that have participated in previous versions of the festival, both for screening, shows or competitions, are excluded.
1.5 The sending of the works for the pre-selection it will be as described in point 3.


2. ABOUT COMPETITION

2.1 LATINOAMERICAN ENDS REGION FILM COMPETITION

a. Films completed from January 2018. Films must be chilean premiere.

b.Films can be feature films or documentaries. The fundamental and excluding requirement is to address the issue of geographical extremes and peripheries. The films produced in the same places portrayed will be privileged.

c. The films should have a minimum of sixty (60) minutes, without credits.

d. The works that are not presented in Spanish, they must be appropriately subtitled in Spanish.

e. The works must have minimum technical standards for display.

2.2 NATIONAL FILM COMPETITION

a. Films completed from January 2019. Films can be feature films or documentaries, produced in Chile.

b. Co-productions will be accepted, as long as at least the Principal and / or the principal Executive Producer are of Chilean nationality and / or residents in the country.

c. The films should have a minimum of sixty (60) minutes, without credits.

d. The works that are not presented in Spanish, they must be appropriately subtitled in Spanish.

e. The works must have minimum technical standards for display.


2.3 INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION

a. Films completed from January 2019. Short films can be live action or documentaries.
b. The films should have a maximum of thirty (30) minutes, including credits.
c. The works that are not presented in Spanish, they must be appropriately subtitled in Spanish.
d. The works must have minimum technical standards for display.



3. ENROLLMENT


Opening: from the publication of the rules. June 21, 2019
Closing: receiving applications until September 15, 2019


WORKS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE DATE INDICATED.

4. SELECTION


Selected entrants will be notified by email during October 2019, to be published the list of the official selection on October 2019, on website www.festivalcineiquique.com Festival, official social networks and media partners.
The works will not be returned.


4.1 SELECTION CRITERIA


The organisation reserves the right to select the works to participate in the Festival. The curatorship will be conducted by members of the organisation and competent professionals in the field.


They are excluded from participating:


a. Any work related directly or indirectly to any member of the organisation FICIQQ.
b. Any work related directly to any sponsor, media associated.
c. Any work that has been exhibited and released on the Internet.


4.2 SELECTED WORKS CONDITIONS


a. Send to the address recorded on the email contact the copies of its work on Bluray or file (or MOV H264).
b. Copies must be in possession of the organisation at the latest on November 1, 2019.
c. Any problem with the display format or otherwise, communicating promptly with the organisation to email sgonzalez@festivalcineiquique.com


5. JURY


The jury will be composed of people with experience in the field of cinema.
The jury's decisions are final.
Be excluded from juries any member who has a direct or indirect, with any of the works in competition in its category. However, they can be sworn in another category, as each committee acts independently from each other.
Their verdict is public and known to all participants and audience of the Festival, being published on the website, social networking and media partners.


6. WINNING WORKS


a. The organisation reserves the right to add or remove awards for your criteria. The awards will be announced closer to the event dates.
b. The winning films have compromised to use the official FICIQQ bays
c. Best film and special mentions of the jury will be chosen by category.
d. The prizes obtained that are related to the participation and attendance to other film festivals, will have an agreement that will be signed once the festival ends, whose clauses once accepted must be respected.


7.-LICENSES


The film festival will have the licenses of the short films of the selection for specials itinerant exhibitions in the Region of Tarapacá, special samples for educational purposes and exhibitions in associated film festivals both national and international. In the case of feature films, authorization will be requested for each possible instance of exhibition.


8.- THE ORGANIZATION


The organisers reserve the right to change the event for force reasons.
The selected films will not be returned. The organisers reserve the use of those with purely Festival advertising purposes, without commercial use and charge for display or the public.
