The Iquique International Film Festival was founded in 2009, finding to create a platform of cultural cooperation.
This is a free event and we try to expand the cinema to people that does not have access to comercial cinemas.
During these seven years, we have created a place where the audience can access to see different kind of films, assist to workshops, and lectures with authors, filmmakers, producer, scriptwritter, and all kind of audiovisual workers.
- All films finished after January, 2015 are welcome for participation, except those films detailed in the clause 2.1 of the present Rules and regulations, whether they are made by professionals, by students or by amateurs.
- Submitted films cannot be available for public online exhibition.
- Films that took part in previous editions of this festival will not be accepted for selection, exhibition or competition.
- Short films cannot be longer than 30 (thirty) minutes, including title credits.
- Feature films must be at least 60 (sixty) minutes long, without title credits
-The Short films should have a maximum of thirty (30) minutes, including credits.
- Films presented in languages other than Spanish must be submitted with Spanish language subtitles.
- All films must be presented according to a minimum technical quality for public screening.
The IQUIQUE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2016 FICIQQ, produced by EL TEJÓN and KINOFRAME FILMS is pleased to announce the release of the official competitions of the 8th version.
2016 RULES

1.- GENERAL CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
Described below are the general conditions to be met by participants of all categories of FICIQQ 2016
1.1 Can participate all audiovisual works completed after January 2015 except in the case detailed in section 2.1- , whether they are made by professionals, students and amateurs in the area of cinema.
1.2 Shall comply with the requirements of each jurisdiction, as detailed in sections 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4 and 2.5; in addition to completing the registration information set out in point 3.
1.3 The works may not be published for display on the Internet or have been released in the city.
1.4 Works that have participated in previous versions of the festival, both for screening, shows or competitions, are excluded.
1.5 The sending of the works for the preselection it will be as described in point 3.
2. ON COMPETITION
2.1 INTERNATIONAL FEATURE FICTION FILM COMPETITION
a. Films completed from January 2015.
b. The films should have a minimun of sixty (60) minutes, without credits.
c. The works that are not presented in Spanish, they must be appropriately subtitled in Spanish.
d. The works must have minimum technical standards for display.
2.2 NATIONAL FEATURE FILM COMPETITION
Only chilean films.
2.3 INTERNATIONAL LIVE ACTION SHORT FILM COMPETITION
a. Films completed from January 2015.
b. The films should have a maximum of thirty (30) minutes, including credits.
c. The works that are not presented in Spanish, they must be appropriately subtitled in Spanish.
d. The works must have minimum technical standards for display.
2.4 INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY SHORT SUBJECT FILM COMPETITION
a. Films completed from January 2015.
b. The films should have a maximum of thirty (30) minutes, including credits.
c. The works that are not presented in Spanish, they must be appropriately subtitled in Spanish.
d. The works must have minimum technical standards for display.
2.4 ENDS REGION FILM COMPETITION
Only chilean films.
2.5 CINEMA I FILM COMPETITION
For independent genre films. Class B, C or Z movies about horror, romance, terror, Science fiction, fantastic film, exploitation, etc.
a. Films completed from January 2015.
b. The films should have a maximum of thirty (30) minutes, including credits.
c. The works that are not presented in Spanish, they must be appropriately subtitled in Spanish.
d. The works must have minimum technical standards for display.
e. They are excluded from this category any work of nature:
- Pornography, extreme violence, etc.
- That violates the dignity of people,
- Violate current laws in Chile and abroad.
For receiving a work that meets one or more of the above points, proceed to provide all the background information to the competent authorities, including the links to the submitted works.
The FICIQQ not be liable in any way for these works, collaborating with the authorities and will be the authors and those who have sent material responsible for these.
3. ENROLLMENT
Opening: from the publication of the rules.
Closing: receiving applications until November 30, 2015
WORKS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE DATE INDICATED.
The nomination phase requires:
a. Complete the registration form found on website.
b. Send a copy of the registration form by email to films@festivalcineiquique.com addition Attach 6 frames in JPG format works and 2 photos of the director of the play.
If the participant does not comply with the above points, you will be automatically out of the preset and therefore the official selection.
4. SHIPPING
The sending of the works will be performed by the Festhome platform, shown in the following link:

Shipping costs are the sole responsibility of the participants. The organization does not assume any cost when recepcionar work.
5. SELECTION
Selected entrants will be notified by email on January 16, 2015, to be published the list of the official selection on January 17, 2015 on website www.festivalcineiquique.com Festival, official social networks and media partners.
The works will not be returned.
5.1 SELECTION CRITERIA
The organization reserves the right to select the works to participate in the Festival. The curatorship will be conducted by members of the organization and competent professionals in the field.
They are excluded from participating:
a. Any work related directly or indirectly to any member of the organization FICIIQQ.
b. Any work related directly to any sponsor, media associated.
c. Any work that has been exhibited and / or released on the Internet.
5.2 SELECTED WORKS CONDITIONS
a. Send to the address recorded on the email contact two copies of his work on Bluray or file (or Mov H264).
b. Copies must be in possession of the organization at the latest on February 3, 2016.
c. Any problem with the display format or otherwise, communicating promptly with the organization to email films@festivalcineiquique.com
6. JURY
The jury will be composed of people with experience in the field of cinema.
The jury's decisions are final.
Be excluded from juries any member who has a direct or indirect, with any of the works in competition in its category. However, they can be sworn in another category, as each committee acts independently from each other.
Their verdict is public and known to all participants and audience of the Festival, being published on the website, social networking and media partners.
7. WINNING WORKS
a. The organization reserves the right to add or remove awards for your criteria. The awards will be announced closer to the event dates.
b. The winning films has compromised to use the official FICIQQ bays
8. THE ORGANIZATION
The organizers reserve the right to change the event for force reasons.
The selected films will not be returned. The organizers reserve the use of those with purely Festival advertising purposes, without commercial purpose and without charge for display or for the public.
