Festival start: 27 August 2015      Festival end: 02 September 2015

The festival shows annually the best recent films and videos on environmental issues, to create awareness, provoke debate and to widen knowledge and conscience on the need of urgent changes in the behavior of people, governments and companies, in order to preserve the planet. All the screenings are free of charge.

The jury of the 2015 Filmambiente will select the best feature film, best short film and can give up to two special awards. There will also be the People’s choice award for feature length and short films.. All the awarded films will receive the a trophy. The festival can also reward the films with monetary prizes.

Requirements:

Feature films:

1. Completed in the last two years (2013 on) , minimum duration of 60 min;

2. Not shown at festivals in Brazil or released theatrically, on television, home video or internet in Brazil;

3. Have a digital screening copy in high definition (1920X1080);

4. Not available on the Internet.
OBS: films completed and publicly exhibited in Brazil before that can apply to noncompetitive sections.

Short films:

1. Completed in the last two years (2012 on), maximum duration of 20 min;

2. Not shown at festivals in Brazil or released theatrically, on television, home video or internet in Brazil;

3. Have a digital screening copy high definition (1920X1080);

4. Not available on the Internet.
OBS: films with different lengths or completed and publicly exhibited inBrazil before that can apply to noncompetitive sections.

To apply you have to:

1. Either complete the submission at Festhome

or

2. Complete the submission at the festival's website, by filling in the application form and sending a DVD by postal mail.

3. The film cannot be withdrawn from the festival after selection;
All the entries are free of charge and will only be completed after the festival receives the viewing copy, sent at the participant’s expense.
