Submissions for the 14th Festival delle Terre – International Audiovisual Award of Biodiversity - are now open. Centro Internazionale Crocevia is pleased to announce that the 14th edition of Festival delle Terre will take place in the wonderful location of Cinema Trevi, in Rome from 30 November to 3 December 2017. The Festival will be held in partnership with the National Film Library.
The Festival showcases each year in the two main section (in competition – out of competition) a wide selection of documentaries, animation and investigation movies. The purpose of the event is to give voice to farmers, local communities, indigenous and people who fight for land’s rights all around the world. The festival promote through the documentary a better understanding of the following issues: biodiversity, indigenous people, land’s rights, contemporary migrations, food sovereignty.

REGULATIONS
1. Background and purpose
Centro Internazionale Crocevia and Mediateca delle Terre organize the thirteenth International Audiovisual Award of Biodiversity – 2017 – open to all those (individuals or organizations) that have produced audiovisual material on the following topics:

conservation of ecosystems;
sustainable agriculture;
food sovereignty;
rights and struggles of peasants and indigenous people;
agro-biodiversity;
virtuous work experiences;
any other related topic.

Festival delle Terre is organized in various venues and takes place in three different Italian cities: Rome (December), Cagliari, Milan, Bologna, Cosenza and Taranto (dates to be defined).
The Festival is divided into sections, which will be defined by the Artistic Director in collaboration with the Jury, based on the characteristics of the works submitted.
The thirteenth festival is organized by the Centro Internazionale Crocevia and Mediateca delle Terre, which hold all copyrights on the name and official logo of the event.

2. Entry Conditions
Each partecipant may enter one or more works, produced through 2014-2017 (date of distribution or first public screening). Works produced in any language can be submitted. The competition is open to documentaries, animation movies and docufiction with a maximum duration of 90 minutes.
Works produced in a language other than italian will be adapted and subtitled by the organization of the Festival. In this regard, it is mandatory for the authors to give their consent in the entry-form. Authors and / or producers are responsible for the content of their work and declare, by applying to the Festival, they have fulfilled all obligations to third parties that may arise from the use of materials subject to copyright.
Texts and images of the films selected for the Festival will be included in the catalogue, on the website and on all related media promotion.

3. Registration of works and method of delivery
Registration
Registration of works for selection is free of charge.
To participate in the selection the online application form at http://www.festivaldelleterre.it/en/submissions/ must be filled, entering all the required data and taking care to indicate the chosen method to send the work.
Works can be sent:
by entering an online link to view the work (ie. youtube, vimeo, etc.)
by entering an online link to download the work (ie. Wetrasfer, mega, etc.)
if it is not possible to use one of the above procedures you can send by post a digital version (on DVD or USB pendrive) of the work to: CENTRO INTERNAZIONALE CROCEVIA - XIV FESTIVAL DELLE TERRE – c/o Lucamarini - Via Cibele 5b 00175 ROME (ITALY)

The deadline for participation in the selection is September 30, 2017

Selected works
The authors of the works selected for participation in the festival will receive a notice at the email indicated on the entry form.

For each work must be sent via email or postal service no later than October 31, 2017:


A scan of the entry form, received by e-mail after the online submission on the website www.festivaldelleterre.it, filled in and signed by the owner and / or holder of the rights of the film;
A scan of the declaration of release signed by the owner and / or holder of the rights of the film;
A link to download the movie (or two digital copies of the film on DVD or USB pendrive sent by postal service);
synopsis of the film and brief synopsis (no more than 500 words), biography and filmography of the author, at least two high-resolution photos extracted from the work, a headshot of the director. The above materials can be submitted either via email or in electronic format on a CD, DVD or USB pendrive via postal service.
the film script, in English, Spanish or French (in case the film is not spoken or subtitled in Italian)


PLEASE NOTE
Shipping charges are at the sole responsibility of the sender.
If the material is shipped from a country that is now part of EU, the following statement must be written on the envelope: “SENZA VALORE COMMERCIALE, PER SOLI SCOPI CULTURALI” ("NO COMMERCIAL VALUE, FOR CULTURAL PURPOSES ONLY").

4. Selection, juries, awards
The selection of films for all sections will be at the discretion of the Artistic Director, who will also have exclusive rights to decide in which category each film will be presented. A qualified jury, whose names will be announced on the website and through the press, will reward the works they will deem most meritorious.
The works received for the Rome Festival edition, will possibly be screened during other editions of the festival with prior notification to the author or the owner of the distribution rights. These local editions can establish additional awards from the critics or the audience. The Internationat Audiovisual Award of Biodiversity and the Crocevia Award will be assigned only in the Rome edition.
The works will not be returned as they will be kept at the Mediateca delle Terre of Centro
Internazionale Crocevia, to be used solely for study, educational and informative and definitely NOT COMMERCIAL purposes.
Authors, producers and distributors of award-winning and selected works will have to indicate in the opening credits of the work, promotional tools and printed materials the official logo of XIV Festival delle Terre as well as any awards received.

5. Terms and conditions
In case of selection no screening fees will be recognized to the author of the documentary of the selected film nor to the company distribution.
The registration and participation in the film selection implies full acceptance of these Regulations in its entirety and of the decisions of the Artistic Director in regard to the presentation of the work and its inclusion in the various sections of the program.
For any dispute, the Court of Roma shall be referred.
6. Privacy
REPORT IN ACCORDANCE WITH Leg. 30/6/2003 n. 196 "Code for the Protection of Personal Data"

Aims of treatment
The data provided will be treated with the following purposes: to allow, even indirectly, the presentation of the XIV Festival delle Terre or the pursuit of related goals and / or related and / or resulting from participation in the Festival; for all the purposes specified in the Regulations.

Provision of data
Personal data is partly optional. The data required is marked with an asterisk. The failure to fill the mandatory entry-form sections dedicated to the data requirements will prevent the film's admission to the Festival.

Communication and dissemination of data
The data may be communicated in order to fulfill legal obligations or requests from law enforcement, judicial and administrative authority.
The personal data collected, in the case the film participating in the XIV Festival delle Terre, may circulate widely through all kinds of media and related publications, as to pursue the purposes mentioned in paragraph 1. and in the “Aims of treatment” section.

Charge of the treatment
The data processors are the individuals in charge of organizing, planning and developing
communication of the “14th Festival delle Terre”.

Exercise of Rights and Data Controller
The rights referred to in Article 7, D. Decree 30.6.2003 n. 196, may be exercised upon request sent by certified mail or by e-mail to the Owner of the data which is:
