The Asian Summer Film Festival wants to present the Asian culture through the popular cinematography produced in the countries of the continent.

The Festival has several categories such as a competitive section, retrospectives, screenings for children and theme nights. Last year, 40 titles from China, Hong Kong, Thailand, South Corea, Japan, India and Nepal were shown, some of them were World and International festival premieres, European festival premieres or Spanish festival premieres. The 18 films programmed in the official section competed for the Jury Prize, the Lucky Cat Award, given by the audience to the best film in-competition, and the Critics’ Choice Award.

Last year we showed movies like ANDHADHUN, THE KNIGHT OF SHADOWS, SPRING SPARROW, GOLDEN JOB, THE MAN WHO FEELS NO PAIN, THE OUTLAWS, UNDER ONE UMBRELLA, THE POOL, HOMESTAY...

The Asian Summer Film Festival (Vic, Barcelona July 15th-21st) has awarded the Thai actress Jeeja Yanin (Bangkok, 1984) with the Honorary Award on its 16th edition. Yanin has attended the festival, stayed in Vic for four days and visited the city and this area of Catalonia. Press and fans have had the chance to meet her personally and enjoy her experience and charm.

Spanish Distributors of Asian Cinema come to our festival to see the movies and some of the are sold to our country.

Feature Films: read the rules

FESTIVAL NITS DE CINEMA ORIENTAL DE VIC (ASFF)
17th EDITION – from 23th to 26th of July, 2020

RULES OF PARTICIPATION

1. The Festival Nits de cinema oriental (ASFF) is dedicated to Asian cinema (including movies produced in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh).

2. The festival has an oficial competitive section with an award given by an International, an award given by the audience and a Critic's choice award. There is also this parallel sections:
- Retrospectives
- Midnight Screenings
- Documentary
- Les Nits al dia (Movies for children)

3. Competitive section. Only Asian movies produced in 2019/2020 can participate in this section.

4. The production company or the distribution company will receive the entry form and the conditions of screening (format, day and hour, etc).

5. The production company or the distribution company lending the film must provide the Festival with promotional material: stills, posters, press-books, trailer, etc. They also must provide the dialogue list with time code, preferably in English, to subtitle the film.

6. All the materials (DCP, 35 mm, digital files) must have a especification sheet. The Festival will not accept prints that do not meet the minimum screening requirements. The Festival will cover shipping expenses for the prints to be screened.

7. The company will give the rights of the movie for 2 screenings. One of this screenings will be exclusively for the organization, press and distributors interested in buying the exhibition rights of the film.

8. Participation in Festival Nits de cinema oriental de Vic (Asian Summer Film Festival) implies acceptance of these regulations.
