The MCMP (Palma Mountain Film Festival) announces the 3rd International Mountain and Nature Short Documentary Film Festival 2021, which aims to promote and publicise short documentaries on mountains (mountaineering, expeditions, climbing, caving, ethnology...) and nature (biodiversity, landscape and environmental impact).

COLONYA AWARD
€750 for the best short documentary produced in the Balearic Islands

The winning short documentary will be broadcast on the IB3 Televisió channel during the following year's festival (2022) and in it online platform.
Licensing will be managed directly with this public corporation.

BALEARIC MOUNTAIN AND CLIMBING FEDERATION AWARD
€500 for the best mountain short documentary

KENIA OUTDOOR AWARD
€500 for the best nature short documentary

The Palma Mountain Film Festival (MCMP) announces the 3rd International Mountain and Nature Short Documentary Film Festival 2021, which is governed by the following rules:


1.OBJECTIVE

The aim of this event is to promote and spread short documentaries on mountains (mountaineering, expeditions, climbing, hiking, caving, canyoning, ethnology, etc.) and nature (biodiversity, landscape, environmental impact, etc.).


2.PARTICIPATION

• Participation is open to teams and individuals of any nationality who are aged 18 and over.

COLONYA AWARD
€750 for the best short documentary produced in the Balearic Islands

The winning short documentary will be broadcast on the IB3 Televisió channel during the following year's festival (2022) and in it online platform.
Licensing will be managed directly with this public corporation.

BALEARIC MOUNTAIN AND CLIMBING FEDERATION AWARD
€500 for the best mountain short documentary

KENIA OUTDOOR AWARD
€500 for the best nature short documentary

Cash prizes are subject to the applicable withholding tax.
Any of the categories may be declared void of a winner.


4.CONDITIONS

• Only one proposal per person or team may be submitted.
• Films may not exceed 20 minutes in length.
• Advertising material will not be accepted.
• Animated films may be submitted.
• The date the short film was completed must be after 1 January 2019.
• Proposals may be silent, in Catalan, Spanish or other languages (when in other languages, preferably subtitled in Catalan or Spanish; either embedded or in .srt format).
• Short films must be presented in the following formats:
o HD video: .mp4; Audio: .aac
o HD video: .mov; Audio: .aac


5. SUBMISSIONS

• The deadline for submissions is 15 January 2021.
• Submissions are free of charge.
• Short films must be sent to info@palmamuntanyafilm.com with a URL and private link (YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive, etc.) or via festhome.com, attaching:
o The form available from www.palmamuntanyafilm.com, duly completed
o 2 promotional photographs in jpg format (minimum 4,000 px)
o 1 photo of the author or authors.
o 1 photo of the ID card or passport of the author or authors.


6. SELECTION

• The jury will determine the official selection, which will be screened at the 12th Palma Mountain Film Festival 2021. It will also choose the award winners.
• The jury's decision will be published on the MCMP website, on social media and wherever it is deemed appropriate.
• The organisation will reject any material with obscene, violent, sexist, xenophobic or racist content or that violates any fundamental rights.
• The jury's decision will be final.


7. PROJECTION OF THE SELECTED SHORT FILMS

• The official selection (which will include the award-winning short films) will be screened at the 12th Palma Mountain Film Festival 2021.
• Both the award-winning and the other selected short films will be advertised on the MCMP's official website and social media, as well as any other media deemed appropriate.
• No payment will be made for screening rights or fees.
• The short films that form part of the official selection may be screened by the organisation at various cultural initiatives, without entitlement to payment.


8. OBSERVATIONS

• The participant guarantees that he/she is the exclusive owner of the intellectual property rights to the film submitted. He/she also guarantees that there are no legal, contractual or other limitations that would reduce the organisation's ability to publicly exhibit the work submitted. He/she also declares that he/she has the relevant authorisation from any persons or entities that own the rights to the different elements appearing in the work submitted, such as music, images, graphics, etc. The participant undertakes to release the organisation of the MCMP from any liability regarding possible claims which, in matters of copyright, may be brought by third parties. All parties accept the jurisdiction of the Courts and Tribunals of Palma (Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain).
• The participant authorises the organisation to use frames, photographs and extracts (maximum 3 min.) from the film in any communication or promotional media in order to promote and publicise the MCMP.
• Participation in this festival implies the acceptance of these rules
