The registration of a film in the competition selection process of the festival indicates the full acceptance of these bases. The organization of the Festival will resolve in an unappealable manner with respect to any matter included in this regulation or its interpretation. The sender of the film authorizes FEDOCHI to select some sequences not exceeding three minutes that can be broadcast by TV, within the framework of programs and spots that disseminate the festival.

The 14th version of the Documentary Film Festival of Chiloe will take place between November 5 and 10, 2018.

The jury of the event will be integrated by outstanding exponents of the Latin American audiovisual creation and production. The failure of this will be unappealable and final.
The jury will select the winners of the short documentary, documentary, students and feature documentary competitions.
In the documentary feature category, the Best Documentary of the 2019 competition will be awarded, and a Special Jury Prize will also be awarded.
In the following 3 categories, the Best Documentary will be awarded in the 2019 version.
The producers of the documentaries that have participated in the official selection of the Festival, especially the awarded works, travel or not to the contest, commit to collaborate with dissemination, communication, interviews, radio programs, among others. In addition to mentioning it in all publicity and press material, respecting the exact wording of the jury's decision, as well as allowing the exhibition of the work in the next version of the event and, eventually, in some retrospective activity.
The XV version of the Documentary Film Festival of Chiloé will take place between November 4 and 9, 2019.

The Documentary Film Festival of Chiloé (FEDOCHI) calls for its XV version that will take place between November 4 and 9, 2019. National filmmakers are invited to present their works in the different categories established in this opportunity, emphasizing the participation of national creators, directors and regional teams, as well as students of film schools trained in Professional Institutes and Universities. In the selection of the works for the different categories, the thematic lines linked to gender, memory, history, heritage, native peoples, migration, identity and environment will be privileged, with the corresponding flexibility.
The participation categories are defined according to the following criteria:

1. National Competition: Documentaries with the aforementioned themes may participate in the following categories:

a) Feature films, national documentaries or in co-production with a Latin American country whose duration must be at least 45 minutes, with an indefinite maximum.

b) Short films, national documentaries whose duration is in the range of 1 to 30 minutes maximum.

2. Regional Competence: Documentaries with the aforementioned themes, whose origin is the southern regions of Chile, may participate in this category. Los Ríos, Los Lagos, Aysén and Magallanes. With a minimum duration of 15 and a maximum of 60 minutes.

Documentaries, in their various categories, must have been produced between the years 2017 and 2019.

3. Cinema Students Competition: Documentaries that address the aforementioned topics may participate in this category. Its duration should be in the range of 5 minutes minimum and 45 maximum. Its director or main team must demonstrate the quality of the student, which must be accredited by means of a certificate that endorses it, in the areas of film, television, audiovisual or journalism, in universities or national professional institutes.

4. Documentaries can be sent in two ways, at your choice:
4.1 Through the Festhome platform: Create a user account in Festhome, complete the registration of your film, look for the Festival in the Festhome list (or go directly to this link https://festhome.com/f/633) , click on Send and follow the instructions of the system.
4.2 By postal mail: In three DVD copies with postage paid to the following address: Eleuterio Ramírez Nª 527 D, Comuna de Castro, Los Lagos Region, on behalf of: XVth Chiloé Documentary Film Festival. FEDOCHI 2019. Each DVD or Blu-ray copy must include a box with labels indicating: name of the work, director (full name, email, telephone), producer (full name, email, telephone number), duration. Regardless of the form of application, you must send the registration form (available on the festival website) to the email festivalcinedocumentalchiloe@gmail.com

5. The reception of works will be open until Friday, July 15, 2019. The date of sending will be considered as the reception limit.
6. The final selection for the contest in its 4 categories will be in charge of a committee convened by the organization of the XV Documentary Film Festival of Chiloé. FEDOCHI 2019.

7. The results of the selection will be communicated to the selected filmmakers via email, published on the event's official website, and on social networks during the first ten days of the month of August 2019.

8. Copies of the received documentaries will not be returned to their authors, even if they are not selected for the competition. The applications will be part of the Festival archive, to be used without commercial or profit purposes.

9. The sending of the registration form implies the acceptance of the bases and the authorization to exhibit the work postulated in FEDOCHI. Once registered and selected, the film can not be withdrawn from the program by its applicant. In the application form, the owner of the rights of the films chosen authorizes FEDOCHI to exhibit the work in parallel activities of the Festival, such as retrospectives in different locations and audience formation activities. The owner of the rights of the work gives free to FEDOCHI the rights of exhibition of the film for these samples. The exhibitions carried out by FEDOCHI have the objective of spreading documentary films in the Los Lagos Region, so these activities are not for profit.

12. The producers of the documentaries that have participated in the official selection of the Festival, especially the awarded works, traveling or not to the contest, agree to collaborate with dissemination, communication, interviews, radio programs, among others. In addition to mentioning it in all publicity and press material, respecting the exact wording of the jury's decision, as well as allowing the exhibition of the work in the next version of the event and, eventually, in some retrospective activity.

13. FEDOCHI, in its task of spreading documentary film in the south of Chile, optionally requests the selected filmmakers, the authorization to exhibit their works in a cultural TV channel of local signal and inter-regional scope, for the only time . If you wish to authorize this sample, and once selected in FEDOCHI, you must sign an authorization form.

14. For purposes of projection during the competition, producers must send an original copy of their works without stamps of any kind. It will be the responsibility of each contestant to submit the final version of the films, otherwise it will be eliminated from the competition or the copy sent for evaluation will be exhibited. The final copies must be delivered by the filmmakers selected after their acceptance has been communicated, and a maximum of one calendar week before the contest.

15. The organization of the Festival undertakes to cover travel expenses for a representative (by land) of the work in competition, as well as one day's accommodation during the course of the contest.

16. The organization of the Festival will not be responsible for problems in the prizes after 30 days of delivery, except in what corresponds to the legal guarantee of the articles.
