Each year for the past 16 years, during 5 days in Evreux (Normandie), the International Education Film Festival offers a wide selection of short, medium and feature films, either fiction, animated films or documentaries.

"Education" films ?
The selected movies, through their directors’ gaze, tackle the great topics of Education,
Childhood and Youth, cultural and intergenerational transmission, the fight against all kinds of discrimination, through different stories and paths followed by children, young people and grown ups. Those fiction films, animated films or documentaries, of any format, aims at a wide audience, parents, educators, associative managers, politicians or local communities, and each and every citizen.

Selected short and medium-length films compete for three prizes of the Education Film Festival. The Grand Prix and the Special Prize are attributed by an independent jury. The Young Jury prize is attributed by a jury of students.
Selected feature films compete for the Education Feature film prize.

Clause 1
The CEMEA organize the Education Film Festival with many partners including the Youth Judicial Protection Service (Ministry of Justice), the Eure General Council, the city of Evreux (Normandy), the Child Benefit Office of Eure.

Clause 2
All movies, short, medium-length and long feature films (reports, documentaries, animated films and dramas) dealing with educational issues can be submitted to our festival. Examples of topics :
- Education to civic rights, to health, to environment or to security, risks prevention.
- Cultural and artistic education
- Training, teaching, learning, transmission of knowledge
- Reinsertion, integration...

Clause 3
Selected short and medium-length films compete for three prizes of the Education Film Festival. The Grand Prix and the Special Prize are attributed by an independent jury. The Young Jury prize is attributed by a jury of students.
Selected feature films compete for the Education Feature film prize.
The awarded movies are subject to the purchase of non-exclusive rights allowing the CEMEA to organize a limited number of screenings (20), during the three years following the notice of the prizes, as part of the regional editions of the Education Film Festival.

Clause 4
The selection is made through “Festhome” platform.
The films are broadcast in 35 mm or in digital media (DCP, HDV). The materials have to be provided by the right owners, in French version or subtitled in French.

Clause 5
In addition to the media, the rights owner will have to provide a duly completed registration form and a picture from the movie (in digital format).

Clause 6
The selection committee, composed by the organizers, will decide whether or not a film can be part of selection. Will not be retained :
- uncompleted films, without sound, or whose artistic or technical level is judged insufficient;
- short and medium-length films made before January 1st, 2020;
- full-length feature films with a national release before November 30th, 2021
- movies that do not meet the conditions set out in clauses 2 and 4.

Clause 7
Expenses for the sending are payed by the senders. The return costs are the responsibility of the organizers.

Clause 8
The directors whose film is selected at the Festival will be invited to present their movie and to meet the audience during its screening.

Clause 9
The choice of the schedule and the order of appearance (including potential deprogramming) is the responsibility of the Festival organizers, who will act in the best interests of the event.

Clause 10
All films will be handled with the utmost care. Nevertheless, we suggest the participants to insure their movies.

Clause 11
The organizers keep back the right to use images and extracts from the selected movies free of charge on all the festival’s communication media (TV channels, website and other digital media), and this only for the promotion before and after the festival. These extracts may not exceed 10% of the total duration of the movie and it will be limited to a maximum of 3 minutes.

Clause 13
The registration of films implies the acceptance of all the norms and conditions established by this regulation.

Should any dispute arise regarding the interpretation of an article in these regulations, their original French version is binding.
