The Dominican Republic Global Film Festival (FCGD), an initiative of Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), is a unique international experience in the world of film festivals with its nerve center in the Dominican capital, Santo Domingo. In this way, inhabitants are part of the festival and enjoy the opportunity to not only see great films, also to be part of ongoing discussions, through the film, about social, political and economic issues.

In 2017 the FCGD received accreditation from the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF) as a COMPETITIVE FEATURE FILM FESTIVAL specialized in Opera Prima.

The awarding of the award certificates will take place on the closing night of this edition of the FCG. As recognition, the winners will receive statuettes.

The amount of the prizes, if any, will be announced on the opening night of this edition.

The following terms and conditions (the terms) govern the submission of a cinematographic work (the film) to the Global Film Festival (FCG) (the festival), to be considered in this edition.
The registration process will be carried out ONLY through the official platforms of the festival, which is announced in the call.

This document will take precedence over any other document prepared by FCG or by any other person. Any questions regarding these Terms should be emailed to Films2021@tamoencine.org.

The Applicant declares and agrees to:

By registering a Film to the Festival for consideration, that it has obtained the consent of each one of the owners, creators, writers, producers, and/or other authorized representatives of the film (“Owners of the film") whose consent is required to register the film to the Festival, and you have read, understood and accepted the Terms.
That they have paid the corresponding copyright for the script, images, music, and/or any non-original audiovisual material subject to the intellectual property contained in the film.

The film is completely original and is not a copy of the original material. The film does not include any other work that is subject to copyright or other protection unless that work is in the public domain or of the parties and they have submitted and obtained every consent, release, license, and other authorizations or exemptions of all kinds necessary for the inclusion or reproduction of any person, character, location, thing, trademark, sound recording, musical composition or any other work in the film.

It does not defame any person or violate common law or legal rights, including, without limitation, the rights of privacy and publicity or any other rights of any person.

The movie should not be subject to a legal litigation process.

They’re not, nor will there be any agreement made after the date of registration, that wants or could impair the ability of the sending parties to provide the film as contemplated in this document, or conflict with any Terms and Conditions.

That the films must be unpublished and have not participated in any other festival or event held in the Dominican Republic before the date of their presentation at the Festival. Otherwise, the films will be invalidated for the competition and/or participate in the Festival.

That grants the Festival the rights exclusively for promotional purposes of the festival and/or for communication or public information of fragments of the literary work, these rights will in no case be for profit.

That you are responsible for providing correct and functional contact information.

Which takes into consideration to registering a Movie the following:

Complete the registration process.

Provide the Festival with an online LINK of the film for review by the programming staff Festival.

Do not record in any other form or format, including content burned for read/write (RW), Blu-ray discs, or DVDs.

Do not deposit the films directly at the offices Festival, without exception.

The film must be available for the Festival no later than 15 days before the opening night of this edition.

Festival only allows projection DCP or downloadable digital links.

The films to be registered must be in the categories Short Film Contest "Global Short", 15 minutes or less, including closing credits.

The directors of the short films must be within the age range of 18 to 55 years.

You can present films of any nationality and filmmakers from anywhere in the world.

The number of movies you can register is unlimited.

Participating in this competition implies full acceptance of the competition rules.

The official language of the country is Spanish. Films in another language must have mandatory and optional Spanish subtitles in english.

A film will not be selected for consideration and should not be submitted if the film was completed within 18 months of the opening night of this edition, or if the film was previously submitted to the Festival for consideration at the Festival.
That commits the representatives of the films that have been awarded, to mention this award in all publicity and press material, using the logo of the Global Film Festival.

Release to the Festival, the owners of the licenses, successors, members, officers, directors, employees, agents, representatives, partners and associates, from any liability in case of theft, access or making copies, unauthorized or of any infringement of the copyright of the film submitted while the film is owned by the Festival.

The Festival:

May disqualify or reject, but is not obliged to do so, any registration that determines, in its sole discretion, that it does not comply, in whole or in part, with these Terms.

Will appoint a selection committee that will be in charge of choosing the finalists.

A jury composed of professionals from the national and international cinema will be responsible for the selection of the winning films.

It will screen the films to the public during the Festival, according to the schedule determined by the organization of the event.

It does not assume responsibility for non-compliance in all copyright-related matters by contestants.
Will Notify the finalists 2 weeks before the official announcement of this edition of all applicants who have been selected to participate in the Festival.

Will announce the finalists of the competitions no later than 1 month before the opening night of this edition through our website, social networks, and all the means at our disposal.

He contacted by email 2 weeks before the official announcement of this issue to all applicants who are not selected to participate in the Festival will be contacted.

It is not responsible for any unsuccessful attempts to contact applicants using the contact information provided.

It will consider for inclusion in the Festival all the eligible films that have been registered within the deadlines announced in the initial call. and under these Terms.

It reserves the right to consider, for inclusion in the festival, the films received, at any time and through any means, channel, or process, including means, channels, or procedures other than those described in these Conditions.

You are not required to consider the inclusion of any film submitted through the process described in these Terms.

He has the sole, absolute, and unappealable discretion to all selection decisions.

It is not obliged to issue comments or reasons, or any other information, regarding the selection or non-selection of any film, presented or regarding the process by which the films were or were not selected.

It is not responsible during or after the selection process; of the contents of any internal comments or comments about the film -which are or could be- about the applicant or any other person; nor about any communication by any representative of the Festival regarding the Film or its selection process.

Take all reasonable precautions against piracy. While the films are in the possession of the festival, they are stored safely and are regularly inventoried. Access to films is limited to staff festivals that require access to protect and consider submissions. no Duplication and loan of the film are allowed.

The Festival reserves the right of selection, being able to disqualify or reject any film that does not comply with any of these terms or conditions, previously exposed.
