Green Screen is a new International Film and Photography Festival that aspires to become a leader for environmental causes, raising both the problem and the solution.


NOTICE:
Due to the current situation of abnormality, derived from the COVID19 pandemic and given that this does not allow for mass events to be carried out, as the Green Screen Festival would require, our general meeting has determined not to carry out the edition this year and postpone it for the next .

Best feature film.
Best Short Film.

The Carboneras-Cabo de Gata Environmental Association announces the convening of the first annual International Enviormental Film Festival "Pantalla Verde", to be held in Carboneras, Almería, Spain, with the collaboration of the City Council and the residents of Carboneras, the Diputación de Almería, the Junta de Andalucía, Cajamar, Cosentino and other organizations.

The objective of this Festival is to promote, and disseminate films, in any format, to raise awareness about the importance of conservation and respect for our environment, living beings and the planet we inhabit in general.
The contest is open to documentaries and films of nature, wildlife and environment.

1 - PARTICIPATION
Any producer, whether an individual or legal entity of legal age, may participate in this festival, except in the Youth section in which minors may participate, with the consent of their legal guardians. The films presented will deal with any environmental aspect.
All aspects related to nature, its current state and future forecasts can be included in the theme of this festival; climate change, water resources, the sustainable development of our society, human rights, socioeconomic imbalances and any human activity with harmful or beneficial effects on the environment.
The jury will give greater value to films that discuss both problems with their solutions and / or emphasize that people can make a difference.
Language. Movies must be sent with any of these options:
- Spanish language (Subtitles are not mandatory)
- Language other than Spanish. Two options are contemplated:
A - Spanish subtitles encoded in the same video file (hard coded).
B - Spanish or English subtitles in str format in a separate file (soft coded).

2 - SECTIONS
FEATURE FILM
Competitive section in which documentaries of nature and environment can be presented, with a duration, not counting credit titles and / or headers, exceeding 30 minutes, which will compete for the best feature film.



The jury will also award the following prizes:
- Best nature movie. This prize will be awarded to the producer or producers of the film.
- Best environmental movie. This prize will be awarded to the producer or producers of the film.
- Best director. This prize will be awarded to the person who appears as director in the credits.
- Better photography. This prize will be awarded to the person who appears as director of photography in the credits.
- Best screenplay. To be granted to the writer or writers that appear in the credits.

A prize from the public will also be awarded to the documentary that receives the most votes on the festival website, by messages or by direct vote in the exhibitions held.

SHORT FILM
Competitive section in which documentaries of nature and environment can be presented, with a duration of less than 30 minutes, which will compete for the Pantalla Verde Award for the best short film.
The jury will also award the following prizes:
- Best nature movie. This prize will be awarded to the producer or producers of the film.
- Best environmental movie. This prize will be awarded to the producer or producers of the film.
- Best director. This prize will be awarded to the person who appears as director in the credits.
- Better photography. This prize will be awarded to the person who appears as director of photography in the credits.
- Best screenplay. To be granted to the writer or writers that appear in the credits.

YOUNG SECTION
Section aimed at children and young people, educational centers and associations in order to contribute to environmental education and awareness. Short films of nature and environment are allowed, with a maximum duration of 3 minutes. The films selected in this section will be shown at the festival and will be available online.
The prize for the best young short film will go to the institution and / or the team that made the film.

The jury will also award the following prizes, which will receive the award to:
- Best young short film made in Andalusia
- Best young short film made in Carboneras


3 - REGISTRATION AND SELECTION

The registration will be free.
Entries must be made online, through the Festhome platform (www.festhome.com/f/pantallaverde).
The date for admission of the productions will end on July 17, 2020.
The Festival will communicate the results of the selection through the official website: www.pantallaverdefilmfestival.com and, personally, by e-mail, to those selected.

All audiovisual works submitted to the contest must respect the legal norms concerning intellectual property and copyright, and those who submit their works must hold all intellectual property rights over them, exonerating the Festival from any responsibility in the case of not holding those rights.

4 - AWARDS
All winners will receive a copy of the "Pantalla Verde" themed trophy


OTHER AWARDS OR RECOGNITIONS
Other prizes or recognitions, without financial endowment, may be granted to individuals, organizations or institutions that are distinguished in the world of cinema and the environment, provided that the Festival organization deems it convenient.

Of the value of the prizes the corresponding retentions will be made according to the Spanish legislation in force in this regard.

5 - JURY
A prejury, composed of a team of independent people, will select, among all the works presented, those that will be finalists and will be exhibited during the festival.The Jury, consisting of four people of recognized prestige in the world of cinema and environment, will be responsible for choosing the winners of each of the categories, from among the finalists.
The Jury Verdict will be unappealable, no appeal or claim can be lodged against it. If deemed appropriate, the jury may declare one or more awards void. You can also award other prizes and special mentions.

6 - PROMOTION AND COMMUNICATION
The film finalists assume the obligation to provide at least three photographs or frames of the film, a photograph of the director, the trailer of the film and a fragment of at least 2 minutes of the film, for promotional work.
The organization may use the material provided by the participants, such as synopsis, photos, trailers or fragments of the films, to disseminate or promote the Festival in the media, with said authorization including the possibility of including it on the festival's website. In this sense, it will be understood that said assignment of rights is made only by presenting the audiovisual work to the contest. Said assignment will be limited to the scope of the FESTIVAL and includes the authorization to project to the public the feature films or short films presented.

7 - OTHER
Selected films may be screened at the different venues of the festival, as well as in other promotional events. Participation in this festival implies the transfer of public communication rights for the screening of the film in non-profit knowledge dissemination sessions associated with "Green Screen".
The contestant responds to the authorship and originality of each film presented, exempting the Organization from any responsibility for non-compliance with the regulations regarding copyright and which may become detrimental to third parties.
The signature of the author, producer or person responsible for the work, in the Festival registration document, means unconditional acceptance of the Festival Regulations.
Likewise, the participants expressly waive any pecuniary or compensatory compensation as a result of the decisions taken by the Festival during it.
