he CV Indie Film Awards is an award show that gives the Oscar Award style recognition to the Independent Film Community. CVIFA strictly focuses on recognizing and rewarding true Independent films with limited budgets (low & Mico budget films only). We recognize talented actors, actresses, cinematographers, screenwriters, producers, directors and a multitude of films from multiple genres. The CVIFA is fully aware of the challenges that are set before Indie filmmakers with micro budgets, therefore, our focus is mainly on the effort that has been put forth into making the film and the overall story. In summary, an Independent filmmaker with micro mini-budget you will find the CV Indie Film Awards beneficial and inspiring. Winners are determined by a combination of popular and industry professionals.

Once formally nominated The CV Indie Film Awards voting is entirely online.

Please read all rules and regulations before submitting your project. The CVIFA reserves the right to update or modify these terms and policies without prior notice at anytime.

A separate entry fee is required for each category submission.

Multiple submissions are allowed. Participants may submit to multiple categories

All films are eligible regardless of genre or premiere/broadcast status. Films that have been screened at festivals or online are also eligible.

Film entries not in English must have English subtitles.

​

Script/Screenplay entries not written in English must submit an English translation.

​

All of our officially selected Nominees are welcomed to participate in our Red Carpet Photo Opp Ceremony, interview & awards, however, all nominees must purchase a dinner ticket.

The CVIFA is unable to provide any financial assistance to filmmakers. All forms of transportation including flights, car rentals, city guides and or any additional accommodations and other related costs to attend the event are at the sole responsibility of the nominees.

All jury decisions are final. The CVIFA reserves the right to not award a winner in categories where adequate entries have not been received. All entry fees are non-refundable. No fee waivers will be allowed.Winners from all all categories, Cast and Film, are determined by a combination of peers and Industry professional votes.

Entrants are responsible for securing all rights and permissions from copyright and other holders relating to their film.

Entrants are responsible for providing 15 sec. clips from their films to the CVIFA for the purpose of including them in the video presentation.

Entrants are responsible providing a HD professional head-shot along with an mp3 of the proper pronunciation of your name.

Entrants are responsible providing a HD movie poster, synopsis and vimeo or youtube link of your film. We accept only films made from California , Arizona and Nevada Filmmakers that contain content acceptable for all audiences.

The CVIFA will not accept any film submissions containing the following content ....NO EXCEPTIONS.

Full Nudity, Partial Nudity, Mild Profanity, Strong Profanity, Sexual Encounters, Racial Slurs, Mild Violence, Strong Violence, Graphic Violence, animal cruelty and content that is NOT suitable for children.

ADDITIONALLY

Whether real, simulated or implied, is not acceptable and will lead to disqualification. The entrant's work(s) will not be eligible for any award nominations and no entry fee will be returned.

​

Only entries who are fully in compliance to the above terms are eligible for nominations.

​

No films will be screened during the CV Indie Film Awards only Trailer Clips.

Filmmakers who submit their films must provide the CVIFA with a private screener for viewing. This is only for Judging purposes.

CVIFA is hereby granted the rights to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted for promotional purposes of the film Awards. The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements, rules and regulations.

PROOF OF OWNERSHIP & REQUESTED DOCUMENTS DEADLINE

All official Nominees must sign a release agreement and statement of proof of film ownership and allowing the CVIFA to promote, view your film in promotional material. Also, nominees must provide links to film, posters and cover art. Nominees have one week to sign and return all requested documents in order to retain your nomination. If the CVIFA dose not receive the requested documents by the given deadline, you will forfeit your nomination and it will go to the next nominee.

The Competition reserves the right to refuse entries.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The CV Indie Film Awards, from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.

By submitting your film to the CV Indie Film Awards the individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening online on the CV Indie Films Website and clips shown during the award show, and understands and accepts these requirements, rules and regulations.

Requirement.

An official nomination means that you are now eligible for the awards consideration.
​
Categories that do not receive submissions will be executed from the awards.
​
Either yourself or a representative must attend in order to revive a possible winning.

If you cannot attend, it is suggested that you do not submit your film for nomination consideration.

No physical awards will be mailed to winners who do not attend the actual awards show. However, your certificate will be emailed to you upon request.

All entry fees and dinner ticket purchases are non-refundable. No exceptions.

COACHELLA VALLEY FILM STUDENTS ONLY

​

All Coachella Valley Film Student films etc... can submit directly through the CV Indie Film Awards email cvindiefilmawards@gmail.com and there is no fee for students with school a valid student ID( k-College)

Students must be enrolled in a film class to qualify for free submission. Please send only Youtube or vimeo links
