G'DAY! AND WELCOME TO ANIMATE
Australia's Home of World Animation.

With its first edition 2020, AniMate welcomes all Animation film entries. You can now submit your Animation film; we may screen it in Sydney and you may receive a nomination.

Short and feature Animation films of all genres, we would love to have you here at AniMate!

SUBMIT YOUR FILM
Are you the producer of a short or feature animation film? We would love to see your work!

Submit your film today for a chance to be nominated to the Animate 2020 Film Festival!

There are no fees until the 22nd of March 2020 and it is a great opportunity to have your film out in the crowd.

We receive animation films from all over the World; any genre and lengths are welcome. Your film will be viewed and assessed; if short-listed, it could be nominated to the Animate Film Festival program. Once nominated, you will receive a Laurel to promote your film.



DEADLINES

For the Animate edition 2020, the submission deadline is the 31st of July 2020 for the Regular Deadline, 31st of August 2020 for the Late Deadline and 20th of September 2020 for the Special Extended Deadline.



SUBMISSION FEES

For entries received by the 22nd of March there will be NO Submission FEES. From the 23rd of March fees will apply as follows:



Regular Deadline (by the 31/07/2020)

$10 for each student entry;

$20 for each other entry.



Late Deadline (by the 20/08/2020)

$20 for each student entry;

$40 for each other entry.



Special Extended Deadline (by the 20/09/2020)

$30 for each student entry;

$60 for each other entry.



We have a no refund policy.



SUBMITTING YOUR ENTRY

Entries are submitted via Festhome.


TERMS AND CONDITIONS
You certify that you are the right holder of the submitted film, you have the sole and exclusive ownership of all rights related to the film you submit as well as having full authority for submitting it to AniMate. Your film could be nominated to the Animate Film Festival program. Your film may be publicly screened with the primary location been Sydney (Australia) and possibly on our website and/or social media for a specified period of time to be voted for the Audience Awards; if you do not wish to have your film published online for this purpose, you can indicate so in the Notes section of the Entry Form. AniMate may use part of submitted films, stills and other submitted materials for exhibition at the Festival, promotions, classification, archive and other purposes.

AniMate assumes that the submitting party or the producer has insured the exhibition copy for damage and loss, and I will not hold AntiMate liable for any damage or loss during shipping, preview, or screening.

By submitting you give Animate the rights to screen your film. Selections are primarily made by the Festival Director; ad hoc juries will be formed for Nominations and Awards.

The film submitted must be downloadable in high definition through the link (and password) that you have to provide. If that is not the exhibition version, that will have to be provided to us at least 20 days before beginning of the festival.

When we refer to AniMate, we are referring the the registered entity AniMate Australia Animation Film Festival.



SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

An Entry Form must be submitted with each film entered. There is no fee if you submit by the 22nd of March.

If the film is not in English, it needs to include English subtitles. If in English, a captioned copy would be preferred to enable people with hearing impairments access the content.

THE SELECTION PROCESS - Nominations

The Festival Director makes pre-selection decisions regarding all entries; relevant advisors and/or pre-selection committees may assist the Director.

If your film is Nominated you will be notified. Together with the notification, you will receive the Nomination laurel that you can use to promote your film. Any submitted film may be eligible to public screenings and online publication, except if otherwise agreed.

Please note: any materials sent will not be returned.



THE SELECTION PROCESS - Audience Awards

All Nominated films will enter the AniMate Audience Awards, where all members of the audience will be invited to vote for the AniMate Audience Awards 2020.
