Baripada Indigenous Short Film Festival (BISFF) is a Santali Short Film Festival Organised by SANTALI ART & FILM DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION, ODISHA in Association with DKB MARNDI PRODUCTIONS & MARDI BROTHERS PRODUCTION. They came together to promote Santali Cinema while nurturing Indigenous talent and work towards the community's development.BISFF provides the right platform to showcase short films to the world unfolding the essence of Indigenous communities

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR SHORT FILMS & MUSIC VIDEO ALBUM REGISTRATION

Organizer Of the Short Film Festival
Baripada Indigenous Short Film Festival (BISFF) is organized by Santali Art & Film Development Foundation (SAFDF), registered under the Indian Trust Act, 1862 with registration no. 4126180222 with its registered office at Baripada, Mayurbhanj, Odisha-757002.

Eligibility Requirements
This film festival is open to All India indigenous tribal filmmakers.

The Short Film / Music Video Album must have been completed after 1st April 2020.

The Short Film / Music Video Album must be available on Google Drive or Pen Drive presentation for preview purposes for a Technical Committee, Selection Committee and Jury Panel.

The Short Film / Music Video Album must be Submitted with Cover Pictures / Posters.

The total running time of a Short Film must be less than 25 minutes in length, including front and back credits. There is no minimum running time.

For both the categories of Music Video Album, entry should contain a minimum of 2 songs . The album will be judged as a whole i.e 2 songs.

The Short Film / Music Video Album can be in any genre but should be in Santali, Ho, or Mundari Language. In the case of any other tribal languages, it should be with English subtitles.

Multiple entries can be submitted, but with a separate entry form. Each Short Film / Music Video Album is considered a new entry.

BISFF organization has the right to use the Entries / Sent / Selected / Nominated Short Film / Music Video Album, Pen drive, and materials from the film for festival promotional purposes and to retain Pen drive copies of each film as part of our festival library.

Short Film / Music Video Album once submitted & selected for final screening will not be allowed to be withdrawn under any circumstances until the festival is over.

The publicity material (Brochures, Stills, Poster, etc.) and a synopsis of the Short Film are to be enclosed with the entry. Entry materials submitted shall not be returned to the entrant.
Pen drive or Google drive submitted for selection will be considered as final and no changes will be entertained after submission. It is the sole responsibility of the applicant to submit a Pen drive without any physical /quality defects.
Entry Form with incorrect / inadequate / illegible / ambiguous particulars will not be considered. The festival committee reserves the right to accept or refuse any film without assigning any reason whatsoever.

Entrants will retain all ownership rights to their films submitted.

The competition is open for professionals as well as amateurs. No separate section for an amateur.


Legal Implication
Short Films that are submitted must be the entrant’s original work and shall not infringe on any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties.

Contestants agree that they have obtained all required permissions regarding Music, Sound, and/or Images presented in your Short Film / Music Video Album. By entering the Festival, the entrant agrees that the Baripada Indigenous Short Film Festival will not be held liable for any copyright infringements perpetrated by you or your Short Film. The Baripada Indigenous Short Film Festival reserves the right to not screen any Short Film for any reason it deems valid.

The entrants may also run the risk of being prosecuted as per the Indian Criminal Procedure Code and the Indian Media Law for any offense or infringement. Racial, religious, and regional discrimination shall not be portrayed in any part of the Short Film / Music Video Album being submitted.

All the legal issues, if any, shall be under the jurisdiction of Mayurbhanj district court only.

Submission Date

Online Registration Starting from 07th March 2022 to 25th April 2022.
Last Date Of Submitting of entries on Google Drive or in a Pen Drive is
25th April 2022.

(Note: No entries will be accepted after the last date of submission.)

Short Film / Music Video Album should be submitted before the deadline. The Baripada Indigenous Short Film Festival is not responsible for late, lost, damaged, misdirected postage due, stolen, or misappropriated entries.

Transportation and insurance costs of Pen Drive, Posters from the place of origin to the Festival Office shall be borne by the applicant.

Selection Procedure
Winners are selected by a judging panel of industry professionals comprising of independent producers, Director, Writer, actors, Lyricists, and other film industry professionals who may be substituted at the discretion of the Festival organizers.

Short Film & Music Video Album are judged equally based on:
~Content Originality (Quality of storyline, and script)
~Production (Camera work, lighting, and shot composition)
~Post-Production (Editing, transitions, pacing, continuity & flow)
~Image (Focus, Color, and Lighting)
~Sound Quality (Clarity, Consistency of audio levels & lack of noise)

At the main event, only selected Short Film and Music Video Album will be screened.

The Baripada Indigenous Short Film Festival will use its best efforts to announce the selected films and albums, winners at the designated time, but will not be held liable for any unforeseen delays.

By entering the Baripada Indigenous Short Film Festival, contestants agree to accept and be bound by the decisions of the Festival and its judges which are final and binding in all matters.

The selection of Short Films and Music Video Albums for the Baripada Indigenous Short Film Festival will be done by a committee whose decision will be final. However, Festival Authorities reserve the Right to Accept or Reject any Short Film / Music Video Album.

Entrant agrees to be bound by All the Terms of these official Festival Rules and Regulations as established herein. The Baripada Indigenous Short Film Festival Reserves the Right to extend the Festival deadline for any unforeseen reasons if needed. Entry constitutes permission to use the winner's name, likeness, and voice for future advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation.
