Celebrating Film, Wine and Food in the Foothills

The Calaveras International Film Festival is put on by independent filmmakers for independent filmmakers.

Our mission is to support and promote the community of storytelling through independent filmmaking all while celebrating wine and food.

The CIFF takes place in the Sierra Foothills county of Calaveras, rich in cultural heritage, this region is abundant in natural beauty, outdoor activities and has been called the hidden gem of the Sierras.

Calaveras has been the muse for writers such has Mark Twain. Generally recognized as his first great success as a writer, his short story “The Celebrated Frog of Calaveras County” originated in Angels Camp. Just a few miles up the road, the historic Gold Rush town of Murphys has become known for it’s premium wineries, gourmet restaurants, unique boutiques and access to mountain sport activities and is the home of the CIFF.

Come up celebrate the films, enjoy the wines, have great food and just enjoy!

Films must be independently produced.

Short films and Feature films can be submitted.

CIFF accepts films from all over the world.

Films produced in languages other than English must be submitted with English subtitles.

There is no entry fee.
