Dokumentala was born to show, through the language of cinema, the transforming power of support between people.

That is why the thematic axis of the proposals to the competition will be to make visible support relationships that can occur in society and that generate positive changes in people, in groups and in municipalities.

Argia Fundazioa, opens the Call for the THIRD Edition of the dokuMentala 2022 Festival

Argia Fundazioa is an entity that supports people with a diagnosis of mental illness to improve their quality of life and the image that society has of this group.

dokuMentala 2022 was born in 2019 to show, through the language of cinema, the transforming power of support between people.

The Call for the Festival for the year 2022 is made public, which will be governed by the rules detailed below.

1. First Prize for Best Short Film, endowed with €1,400

2. Second Prize for Best Short Film, endowed with €1,100

3. Argia Fundazioa Award, which will go to the best proposal from a social entity and endowed with €1,000

4. PROMESA Second Prize, which will go to the best proposal directed by a new director or less than 25 years old and endowed with audiovisual material valued at 400 euros.

1. THEME
The thematic axis of the proposals for the competition will be to make visible support relationships that can occur in society and that generate positive changes in people, in groups and in municipalities.

(Ex: Intergenerational relations, groups at risk of social exclusion, women victims of gender violence, support and relationship in the field of sports, work, with pets,...)

2. PARTICIPANTS

2.1. Participation in dokuMentala 2022 is open to any person or entity

2.2. In the event that any of the participants is a minor (direction or interpretation), they must attach the corresponding authorization that can be found in the dokuMentala download bar on our website: https://bit.ly/3wy9reF

3. CATEGORIES OF PARTICIPATION.

3.1. Three CATEGORIES of participation are established:

to. SHORT FILM
i. In this category, short films that are Fiction, Documentaries, Animation or any other type can be submitted.

b. SOCIAL ENTITY
i. In this category, those short films made by social Entities, Foundations, Associations, NGOs, non-profit organizations that work in the social field, especially for groups in situations of vulnerability, will have access.

c. PROMISE
i. In this category they can be presented by filmmakers who are beginning their career: first works, under 25 years old.

3.2. The short films must be presented in Basque or Spanish

3.3. Each short film will have a minimum duration of 2 minutes and a maximum of 15 minutes.

3.4. Only works produced after December 1, 2019 or produced before will be accepted as long as they have not been awarded by any other festival and coincide with the theme of dokuMentala 2022

3.5. The deadline for registration and presentation of the work will end on November 1, 2022 at 12:00 p.m.
