The ULA Táchira Film Club and the Bordes Cultural Foundation officially open the call to participate in the IX Encuentro Para Cinéfagos 2019, inviting all filmmakers and audiovisual producers, both amateur and professional, to submit their works of up to twenty (20) minutes of any kind or origin in any of the categories of the festival (fiction, documentary, video-art, video-dance, music video and animation). Since 2011, movie lovers who meet weekly in what we call "meeting for Cinéfagos", in order to contemplate and comment on films from different eras, genres, styles and cultures, decided to make a bigger meeting, where we would see works of our region and we held workshops with specialists in the appreciation and cinematographic realization. This year we arrived at our 9th meeting, an event that has been carried out in different versions: show, festival, international symposium, among others, but since its inception is a party for Cinéfagos, where you can taste and learn about cinema as a medium . The seventh art has used its own resources to tell stories like no other art had done before, showing almost unknown realities, expanding the possibilities of transmitting emotions based on elements of different disciplines (music, painting, dance, among others) to complement and achieve to bring truth screens in a more poetic way. The cinema changed the way we perceive our environment, making us more aware of what happens or what can happen. Last January, 122 years were celebrated since Manuel Trujillo Durán inaugurated the Venezuelan cinema in Maracaibo, on January 28, 1897, with the premiere of "A Famous Specialist Pulling Wheels at the Gran Hotel Europa" and "Girls Bathing in the Lake of Maracaibo ", in the Baralt Theater. In our city, Bordes celebrated this date with the inauguration of the production house Para Cinéfagos, a space to project, comment and produce films, in addition to imparting knowledge about the different parts that make up a film production. This institution, together with Bordes Galería-Café are part of the Bordes family. Over the years, this meeting has served as a platform to publicize regional, national and even international audiovisual works, including lectures and workshops that complement the training of interested parties, being an ideal space for meeting and discussing ideas around to the seventh art. This year, the appointment is on August 8, 9 and 10 at the College of Engineers San Cristóbal, headquarters of Para Cinéfagos and Bordes Galería-Café.  Some guests who have accompanied us in the eight previous editions are: Gerard Uzcátegui, Manuela Planas, Gabriel La Cruz, Atahualpa Lichy, Kaori Flores Yonekura, Rodolfo Izaguirre and many more, including promoters and local producers.
