The FIRST INTERNATIONAL CINECONFIC FESTIVAL - CONSTITUCION will be held in the city of Constitución, Chile, from March 10 to 15, 2020. Short films of genre fiction or international documentary, short films made in Latin American film schools, Óperas Primas (debut feature film) of fiction or documentary genre and competition of Chilean school short films produced from January 1, 2018 may participate in competition.

There will be the following awards:

Best Feature Film
Special Jury Prize
Best screenplay
International Fiction Short Film Competition
Best short film
Special Jury Prize
International Documentary Short Film Competition
Best short film
Special Jury Prize
International Short Film Competition of Latin American Film Schools
Best short film

Short and high school competition in central southern Chile
Best short film Basic Teaching
Special Jury Prize Basic Teaching
Best High School Short Film
Special High School Jury Prize
Each prize will have a trophy. There will also be prizes from sponsors and money.


The FIRST INTERNATIONAL CINECONFIC FESTIVAL - CONSTITUCION will be held in the city of Constitución, Chile, from March 10 to 15, 2020. Short films of genre fiction or international documentary, short films made in Latin American film schools, Óperas Primas (debut feature film) of fiction or documentary genre and competition of Chilean school short films produced from January 1, 2018 may participate in competition.

The festival will present the following sections:

International Feature Film Competition in Opera Prima
International Fiction Short Film Competition
International Documentary Short Film Competition
Latin American competition of short films from film schools (fiction, documentary, animation)
Competition of short films of schools and high schools in the South Center of Chile (Region of Ohiggins, Maule, Ñuble and Bío Bío)
1. General Requirements

Movies must not have been released before January 1, 2018.
Short films must have a maximum duration of 30 minutes, credits included.
Feature films must have a minimum duration of 45 minutes and a maximum duration of 120 minutes, credits included.
Chilean première will be privileged.
Papers that do not have dialogues in Spanish must be registered with subtitles in this language or in English. Works whose language is not Spanish and does not have subtitles in Spanish or English (even if they are spoken in English) will NOT BE EVALUATED.
Every producer of SELECTED WORK NOT SPOKEN IN SPANISH SHOULD DELIVER A COPY OF EXHIBITION WITH SUBTITLES IN SPANISH. (EXCLUSIVE REQUIREMENT FOR COMPETITION)

2. Requirements and description of the categories.

International Premium Opera Competition: feature films (debut) of fiction or documentary. Films that present a remarkable and creative dramatic quality or that are innovative in the use of audiovisual language to portray reality will be prioritized.
International Fiction Short Film Competition: fiction short films made by filmmakers of any nationality. Films that present a remarkable dramatic quality will be prioritized, accompanied by a creative treatment and expressive originality.
International Documentary Short Film Competition: documentary short films, made by filmmakers of any nationality. Films that emphasize the exploration of new languages ​​and reality registration formats will be prioritized.
International Short Film Competition of Latin American Film Schools: short films made in Latin American film schools in fiction and documentary format.
Short films competition of schools and high schools of the South Center: works of fiction, video art, documentary and animation, made by schoolchildren and high school students from the regions of Ohiggins, Maule, Ñuble and Bío Bío.
3. Awards

4. Applications

The nomination for the festival will cost USd for foreign short films and foreign feature films. Registration will be free for Chileans.

Dates and fees: Applications may be made from October 14, 2019 until January 15, 2020, when the material will be held by the festival organization. Works received after that date will not be considered.
Early registration: October 14, 2019 to November 30, 2019. USD $ 5 for shorts and USD $ 10 for lengths.
Regular registration: December 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019. USD $ 10 for shorts and USD $ 15 for lengths.
Late registration: January 1, 2020 to January 20, 2020. USD $ 15 for short films and USD $ 20 for long films.
5. Selection

The jury of the Festival will consist of personalities from the Chilean audiovisual, artistic and cultural media, and their decisions regarding the awards are not contested.

The producers of the selected works will be contacted by email no later than February 21, 2020, and will be indicated the next steps to follow.

Exhibition Copy: The exhibition copy can only be sent physically or digitally in MOV HD container video format, Prores or H.264 low compression or DCP codecs that comply with DCI standards.
Language: the exhibition copy if it is not spoken in Spanish MUST HAVE SUBTITLES IN SPANISH. The producer must provide a copy with subtitles printed on screen or deliver an .srt file in case of sending an MOV file. Failure to comply with this requirement implies the automatic elimination of the selection.
Dates: the exhibition copy must be in possession of the festival no later than March 5, 2020.
6. Final Considerations

Once postulated, the film cannot be withdrawn by the participants if it is selected.

The organizing commission is not responsible for lost or damaged materials during the shipping or return journey.

The winning works must include in their credits and promotional materials, the prize obtained in this contest.

The organization reserves the right to disqualify a job that, once selected, does not comply with the rules of the contest.

Any situation not indicated in these bases will be resolved by the organizing committee of the festival.

The works that participate in the FIRST INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF THE COAST (CONSTITUTION), must accept the conditions of these bases.
