SCI-CINE is Sci-fi cinema event offering innovative film-makers the chance to have their work seen on the international stage and deliver some of the best new Sci-fi to fans from around the world. A selection of trailers and films will be available to view in our online screening room with the live screenings in October showcasing the best Shorts, Features and Animations in the Sci-fi & Fantasy genres.

Best Feature Film ( Over 60 minutes )
Best Short Film ( Under 60 minutes )
Best Super Short ( Under 5 minutes )
Best Trailer ( Under 3 minutes )

All films and screenplays must be completed upon submission. No works in progress please. Short films as well as feature films of any genre and format up to 140 minutes are accepted.

All films must have been made in or after 2013 and have English subtitles (except for music videos and unless English is the main language spoken).

International films not in English MUST be subtitled or dubbed in English.

By submitting your film to our festival you agree that your piece of work (full film or trailer) can be uploaded/embed on our website. The filmmaker/institution that is submitting the film must own the rights to do so and is responsible for the content they are providing. By submitting, the filmmaker allows Sci-Cine to create a page for their film without infringing copyright of any kind of form. Any violations of that agreement will result in immediate disqualification from the festival.

How does it work?

After the submission is complete and the film is accepted, we will upload/embed your film/trailer on our Screening Room webpage. Winning films will be highlighted.

Submissions close 1 month before the festival screening date(s) and all officially selected films will be announced on our website and social media pages. All of those selected will be notified through filmfreeway.

Winners, nominees and unsuccessful films can be deleted from the website after the festival ends as long as the submitter decides to do so.

Judging and Selection
Each submission will be reviewed by two reviewers. Names of reviewers will not be released until Official Selections are announced
to avoid favoritism.

Judging decisions are final.

Submissions that are found to have violated any of the Eligibility Requirements listed above may be disqualified at any time by Sci-Cine.

If you're not sure about something, please email us before you submit. We'll answer your queries as quickly as possible.
