Festival start: 13 November 2019      Festival end: 20 November 2019

The Mix Brasil Festival is an annual cultural event with a focus on films related to sexuality in its various forms of expression.

In 2018, an estimated audience of 52,000 people attended the screenings, parties, theatre and music performances, conference and debates promoted in the festival's 26th annual edition.

Mix Brasil is held in November at prestigious movie theaters across Sao Paulo and takes full advantage of the diversity of the city to host a variety of innovative events. After São Paulo, Mix Brasil tours abridged programs to other Brazilian cities.

The event is carried out by the Associação Cultural Mix Brasil, a non-profit organization which seeks to promote the freedom of expression of sexual diversity by looking at new and different ways that this is achieved.

All short films must be available for the tour, but the participation of features (fiction and documentary) will be subjected to the approval of the producers/distributors. If you do not wish to participate in the tour, you should notify the festival management by October,01st by email.

Selection of entries is done by a committee of people connected to the areas of cinema, visual and performing arts, journalism, advertising, academics, social policy and/or the LGBTQI universe. This committee has the liberty to define its own criteria of evaluation and selection, in accordance with the profile and guidelines defined by the direction.

Programming is the prerogative of the festival. The selected films can enter in any section of the festival, with the exception of films that are pre-selected by invited curators.

Brazilian short films up to 25 minutes long are eligible for the Brazilian Competition Program. While a premiere is not required, it will be a plus during the selection process.
