Welcome to Filmstrip International Film Festival. We’re an online and independent film festival with live screenings, that takes place in the heart of Moldavia region, in Iasi, Romania, one of the leading centers of Romanian social, cultural, academic and artistic life.

Known as The Cultural Capital of Romania, Iași is a symbol in Romanian history, and it is still referred to as The Moldavian Capital, being the main economic and business center of the Moldavian region of Romania.

Filmstrip International Film Festival is involved in promoting young filmmakers, maintaining a high standard, that of a festival eminently dedicated to spiritual and cultural values.

The best films of each category will be screened at a vibrating venue, "La Baza”, home of many cultural events in the city throughout the year.

The festival runs once a year, the whole process of selection and awarding takes place online, with live screenings being held at the end of each edition.

There will be a total of 10 films screened at our location - the AWARD WINNERS (Best Film, Silver, Bronze, Special Mention) and the CATEGORIES AWARD WINNERS (Animation, Documentary, etc).

The winner of the Best Film will get our Filmstrip IFF trophy, along with Award Certificates stating their performance in the current edition.
The winning film of each category will be awarded our official printable award certificate in PDF.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT WE DON'T PUBLISH YOUR FILM ANYWHERE ONLINE.

Due to the limited time of screening hours, only the WINNING FILMS of each category will have the chance to be screened at our location.

Only short films accepted(maximum 35 minutes of lenght) of any genre.

We only accept online screeners, digital copies or a link to the project (such as Vimeo, Youtube, etc).

The entry fee is refundable upon request no later than 15 days after the submission.

We only accept digital submissions of HD quality (720p or better). Furthermore, Filmstrip IFF has the right to disqualify/not accept your submission without further notice.

English subtitles mandatory(except for music videos)

For films selected for the final screening, we will require a download link to the submission and english subtitles in subtitle formats(.txt, .sub, .srt, etc) in order to translate the movie for the audience, all of these no later than 7 days prior to the festival screening.

Maximum 2 projects per director/submitter per festival edition, however you will be allowed to resubmit the entry in the next edition if the project hasn’t been awarded in the previous one.

For a category to be considered eligible, there will be minimum 5 entries necessary.

The Best Film award winner cannot submit his film at our festival for 1 year.

Disclaimer and Copyrights
Festival does not deal with any copyright issues, all copyright issues should be resolved by the film authors. Filmmakers and screenwriters retain all of their rights to their projects and their materials submitted at Filmstrip IFF.

By submitting your film to our festival you agree that short information about your piece of work(such as website, trailer, synopsis, etc) can be embedded on our website but WITHOUT uploading your film online. The filmmaker/institution that is submitting the film must own the rights to do so and is responsible for the content they are providing. In case of winning a category, the filmmaker allows Filmstrip IFF to screen his film at the location and/or to create a page for their film without infringing copyright of any kind of form.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless us, our officers, affiliates, employees, and partners from any and all claims and liability arising out of entering or transmitting your film to Filmstrip IFF. The filmmakers are free to submit multiple films as long as they own or have all the rights to the film.

Laurels
Filmmakers are allowed to use Filmstrip IFF laurels on their winning/nominated/selected films ONLY. They can be used on posters as well as on other media available. Other laurels can be provided upon request.
