THE IDEA
Well aware that the Swiss mountains are one of the broadest and richest natural environments in the world, as well as a fruitful economic, cultural and touristic region, the Association International Festival of Cinema, in collaboration with the Municipality of Pontresina, decided to launch the ‘Swiss Mountain Film Festival'

The aim of this Italo-Swiss project is to pay a tribute to the mountain areas of Switzerland and of the whole world, that is to the so-called Highlands of the World.

The Filmfestival
‘Swiss Mountain Film Festival’ is addressed to all those directors who have chosen the mountain as the main subject of their cinematographic works, paying particular attention to its landscapes and to the culture and traditions of its people.

The competition is open to all films and documentaries having the
highlands of the world, and especially alpinism, as their main subject.

The aim is to dedicate a whole week to the cinema and the mountain, a combination of two passions which will create a unique and unmissable event.

-Special prize to Switzerland director or movie enterprise

SWISS MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL - REGULATION

Art.1- Festival Internazionale del Cinema Association organizes a cinema contest within the 5th Edition of the ‘‘Swiss Mountain Film Festival’’.

The Festival is opened to all producers and directors who can send movies, animation films, documentaries and fictional films, short or long lenght.

The Festival would like to promote the culture of mountain, with particoular attention to alpinism. The eligible films must have been produced after January, 1st 2012

Art.2 - The prizes assigned by Jury will be:
-1st classified “Swiss mountain film festival”
-Special prize to Switzerland director or movie enterprise

It is not provided the shipment of the Prize. Winners will received their prize only during the Prize-giving Ceremony, that will take place on the last festival day.

Any other prize will be decided by Jury or Organizing Committee.

Art.3 - Producers may participate in competition with one or more movies.

Art. 4 - The Festival will take place in Pontresina from 8th to 13th August 2016.
The admitted movies will be screened during the Festival as complaing with the program definited by the Organizing Committee.

Art.5 - The organizing Committee nominates the selection board, which is responsible for the admission of the films to the contest (its decisions are definitive), as well as the Jury, which is in charge of the awarding.

Art.6 - Works submitted to selection must be sent in mpeg/mp4/h264.mp4 format together with all the materials required at art. 7.
Files must be send to info@swissmountainfilmfestival.com using www.wetransfer.com or any other programs able to send high-resolution files.

It is possibile also to subscribe movies with http://www.festhome.com/ selecting Swiss Mountain Film Festival. Deadline for applications is May 15th 2016.

Art. 7 - The following materials must be attached to the entry form and file of the movie:

- Synopsis in Italian, English and German language;
- at least 5 snapshot the film (colour or black and white, in digital format) maximum weight 6 mb, longer side minimum 1600 pixel, 300 dpi;
- Italian and German subtitles (if the movie is not in these languages)

Art. 8 - The Organizing Committee will communicate the selected movies admitted to the contest and the screening program of the Festival.

There are no refunds of any kind (screening fees, shipping costs, travel).

Art. 9 - Shipping and insurance charges (from the country of origin to the delivery to the Festival Direction Board) to be paid by authors.
Movies submitted to selection won’t be returned.

Art. 10 - Filmmakers and producers are required to authorize the publication and distribution of their personal data on the web-site and on the promotional materials and to the Press Filmmakers and producers authorize the using of some extracts of their movie for the realizazion of promotio- nal materials’ Association (e.g. the theme song of the Festival).

Art. 11 - In order to set up the Swiss Mountain Film Festival Video Library, the organization invites the filmma- kers and producers to donate ththeir works.

The video Library will collect all the works which take part to all the editions of the Festival in order to preser- ve the cinematographic legacy of the Festival itself.
Works of the Library won’t be used for commercial purposes and that they won’t be assigned to anyone.

Art. 12 - Partecipation to the contest implies the full acceptance of the rules specified in this regulation.

Art. 13 - The Organizing Committee is in charge of possible disputes or cases not forseen by this regulation.
