When foreign text (on-screen) or dialogue comes out, Korean subtitles must exist in the submitted short film.


Organization
The 4th Catholic Film Festival (2017) is organized by the Catholic Film Festivals Association, which is a member of the media committee of the Korean Catholic Bishops' Conference and is sponsored by the Catholic Film Festival Executive Committee.

Themes and objectives
The theme of the 4th Catholic Film Festival is 'Communication and Embrace'. Through various films that focus on communication and embracing communion for modern people suffering in the culture of alienation and disarray, they seek to find an alternative.

Date and Place
It will be held at the CGV Myeongdong Station Cine Library (Exit 7 and Myeongdong Station Exit 7 and 8) for 4 days from October 26, 2017 to October 29, 2017.

Short Competition The finalists will be screened twice in each section.
It will be screened once on both October 26-27,

It will be screened once with the GV (meeting with guest) on Saturday, October 28.
On the evening of Saturday, October 28, there will be a night of CaFF for short film competition directors.

Awards
Among the short films, six award-winning works will be selected and awarded at the closing ceremony of the 4th Catholic Film Festival. Screening of the winner of the short film competition final screening as a closing film.

Target: 1 piece, prize money 2 million won
Excellence Prize: 1 piece, prize money 1 million won, equipment rental ticket 500,000 won
Encouragement Prize: 3 pieces, prize money of 700,000 won, equipment rental ticket 300,000 won
Audience Award: Injured

Entry qualification
Includes ending credits completed after January 2016. It is a short film within 30 minutes of screening time. There are no restrictions on genres such as fiction, animation, documentary, experimental film.
It has nothing to do with religion, and it should contain the value and theme that the film festival pursues.

How to Exhibit
You must complete the online application and send the required documents by email to apply@caff.kr from July 1, 2017 to midnight on Monday, July 31, 2017.

Entry regulations
For current digital files, send them to apply@caff.kr.
File codec: h264, extension: mov or mp4, resolution: 720p or 1080p, file size can not exceed 2 gigabytes.

When listing online, please include 'CaFF2017 shorts / name of applicant / name of work / screening time' in the e-mail subject.
Ex) CaFF2017 short film / Hong Gil-dong / 16 minutes

Entry fee is free.

Subtitle
When foreign text (on-screen) or dialogue comes out, Korean subtitles must exist.

Selection of finalists
The Short Film Competition will be selected by the film festival program team, announced on the Catholic Film Festival website (www.caff.kr) until September 1, 2017, and individually announced.

Judging by the judging panel appointed by the executive committee of the Catholic Film Festival will be held for the short competition.
After the selection announcement, it is not possible to cancel the screening of the finalists.
A piece of work that has been rejected for the contest can be screened at the invitation section after being selected by the program director of the film festival.

Submit final screening
Final screening must be submitted within 15 days after notification of advance to the finals.
The format for the screening is the basic HD File, and the file output according to the extension MOV (ProRes 422 Codec), resolution 1080p, fps 24p standard can be sent to the Catholic Film Festival Secretariat in the external hard disk or USB memory, .
A highlight image of the same format 10 seconds long is submitted along with the final screening.

This file is used for promotional images of opening highlights and short competitions in the opening ceremony, and the Catholic film festival chooses an arbitrary image when not highlighting the video file.

The main entry will include English subtitles in consideration of foreign visitors and overseas touring.

The Catholic Film Festival considers the safety of screenings submitted to external HDDs or USB memories as much as possible, but the film industry is not responsible for any damage caused by accidents or natural disasters that can not be avoided during transportation.

Film Festival screening
In Catholic film festivals, entries will not be screened for more than three times during the festival, according to international regulations, and the number of times, date, time, and theaters will be decided by the festival.

Use materials for making promotional materials

The submitted materials are used as leaflets and publicity materials for the 4th Catholic Film Festival.

For works selected for each category, the Catholic Film Festival can be used to promote excerpts and video clips of less than three minutes and to promote the festival.

Archives and Copyright
For the screening, research, and educational purposes of the Catholic Film Festival, the festival's main entries are the HDCAM, DCP, HD, HDV and MOV copies of the main screening films.

The 4th Catholic Film Festival screenings will be screened at the Catholic Film Festival, for nonprofit purposes, organized by the Catholic Film Festival, screened before and after the screening of other film festivals, It can be re-screened.

If the Catholic film festival promotes feature films on domestic and international channels, the Catholic film festival asks copyright holders to agree to broadcast the program.
The copyright of the entry is owned by the copyright owner.

Agree
