Cortos en Grande Short Film Festival is an event organized by Fundación Viart and Balmaceda Arte Joven that seeks to promote young creation and give a new opportunity to new generations of filmmakers, highlighting and rewarding their work and talent. Its main objective is to be a platform for dissemination and real support for the development of emerging cinema, providing its filmmakers with a space for the presentation and development of their artistic proposals.

The distancing showcase was born to portray the historical moment that we are living around the world, a root of the expansion of the coronavirus throughout the planet.
First.- Could participate in any filmmaker who has a short film with the theme of the COVID 19 pandemic, of any genre and with a maximum length of 5 minutes (including credits).
Second.- Short films recorded with any type of equipment will be accepted: mobile devices, cell phones, tablets, gopro or professional cameras, etc.
Third.- All the required short films will be registered on a public YouTube or Vimeo link, specified in the application form.
Fourth.- The language of the showcase is Spanish. Short films in other languages will be accepted, provided with spanish subtitles.
Fifth.- The selected short films will be included in the social networks of the Festival Cortos en Grande, for free viewing by the public.
Sixth.- The organizers of the festival will present a unique prize among the participants of this exhibition, the Audience Prize of $ 200 U.S dollars for the short film with the most "likes" on the festival's social networks.
Seventh.- By submitting the application, acceptance of these rules is understood.
Any violation of these bases automatically disqualifies the video in question.

First.- We are looking for documentary, fiction and animation Short Films made by filmmakers from around the world (except Chile, see National Competition rules) from 18 to 30 years old.
Second.- You can submit one or more short films with a maximum length of 30 minutes (including credits) and the production date must be between July 2018 and July 2020.
Third.- Submissions will be open between June 21th and July 31th.
Fourth.- The jury of Cortos en Grande 2020 will be made up of prominent international filmmakers, a representative of the VIART Foundation and a representative of Balmaceda Arte Joven, who will select the winners.
Fith.- The International Competition will award the following prizes:
Best Short Film CEG2020 - $ 400 US dollars.
Audience Award - $ 400 US dollars.
Sixth.- Prizes will be granted directly to whoever enters the winning short film, which must be the director or producer of the audiovisual piece; who will also be owner of the copyright.
Seventh.- The jury will be empowered to declare the Best Short Film Award void. The Audience Award will be designated through the votes of online and presencial exhibitions that could be done.
Eighth.- Due to the current context, the Festival Cortos en Grande 2020 plans for this year its first online edition, so all short films must have the possibility of being exhibited in this format for at least 7 days, in Chile and worldwide.
Ninth.- In the event that the exhibitions are held in cinemas, the festival team will contact the filmmakers of all the audiovisual pieces selected to request the material in high-resolution digital format.
Tenth.- The filmmakers undertake to deliver the broadcast material (still photo, director photo, producer photo, trailer, social media), to support the communication of the Festival's activities.
Eleventh.- Cortos en Grande will not return the material and reserves the right to use complete works and/or fragments of the selected videos for the broadcast of the official competition and for the subsequent broadcast of the event and in the next editions of the festival.
Twelfth.- By submitting the application, acceptance of these rules is understood. Any violation of these bases automatically disqualifies the video in question.
