Dock of the Bay is a festival focussed on the dissemination of non-fiction films addressing the extensive world of music in its different thematic and formal aspects.
The Dock of the Bay Festival will run in Donostia-San Sebastian from 7th to 12th June 2021.
DOCK OF THE BAY SECTIONS
The Dock of the Bay programme will have different sections. Only the Official Selection will be composed of competing films, all of which will be contenders for the Dock of the Bay Award for Best Music Documentary 2021.
The Festival will have one award:
•Dock of the Bay Award for Best Documentary Feature, with 2.000 euros (including tax)*.
•Other Awards still to be determined.

*Said gross amount will be subject to applicable tax.
*The winning films undertake to mention the award on all advertising material, press files and in the credit titles of all copies, respecting the exact wording of the Jury’s decision and using the Festival logo where appropriate.
*Said logo will be available on the official Festival website.
*The “Award for Best Documentary Feature” will go to the director, production company, or person submitting the film to the competition. Payment of the cash prize will be made by bank transfer on a date following the end of the Festival.
The submitted works must be:
•Non-fiction films on the subject of any aspect of the music world, as well as films experimenting with the limits of conventional narrative, provided that the focus of their discourse is music.
•Submitted films must have their premiere in Gipuzkoa at the Dock of the Bay Festival.
•Film submissions will be formalised by the producers, directors or legal representatives of the works.
•Participation in the Festival is only open to films whose production is later than November 2019 and which have not been released in commercial cinemas, or on digital platforms.
•The Festival’s competitive category is for Feature Films only. The Festival understands feature films to be those with a running time of
more than 60 minutes.
•For their screening, only copies in DCP format will be accepted.
•Submission deadline: 12 April 2021.
•The selection committee, to be made up of the members named by the organisation, will select the films to participate in the Official Selection 2021.
•These Rules & Regulations are published in english, Basque and Spanish. In the case of doubt, the Spanish version is valid.
•Submitting a film implies acceptance of the conditions of these rules & regulations.
