Vision and objectives of the festival:

A) Raise awareness: The festival aims to raise awareness about various issues related to social justice, such as inequality, discrimination, human rights, sustainability, among others. Through the films and activities, it seeks to inform and educate the public on these important issues.

B) Promote dialogue and reflection: The festival seeks to create a space for constructive dialogue and critical reflection. Through panel discussions, talks with filmmakers and chat rooms, the exchange of ideas is encouraged and attendees are invited to reflect on the themes presented in the films.

C) Inspire and motivate to action: The festival aims to inspire attendees to take concrete action in pursuit of social justice. Through the stories presented in the films, the aim is to generate empathy, motivation and mobilization towards positive social change.

D) Promote diversity and inclusion: The festival seeks to highlight and celebrate diversity in all its forms, including cultural, ethnic, gender and sexual orientation diversity. It seeks to promote inclusion and equality, providing a platform for diverse voices to be heard and represented.

E) Support Committed Filmmakers: The festival seeks to support filmmakers who address social justice issues in their work, giving them a platform to showcase their films and broaden their reach. It seeks to promote film production committed to social transformation.

F) Generate impact in the local community: The festival seeks to generate a positive impact in the local community, involving local organizations, community leaders and spectators in the activities and in discussions about social justice. It seeks to create greater awareness and sensitivity in the community about these problems.

AWARDS

Among all the selected works, a jury (made up of professionals from the cinematographic, artistic, and cultural fields and members of the organization with voice and without vote) will decide on the awarding of the prizes:

• Award for the best international film Fiction Categories

• Award for the best national film Fiction Categories

• Award for the best National Documentary Film

• Award for the best International Documentary Film

• "Roberto Cuervo" Award for the best Linqueño short film

• “Cineclub El Gabinete” Award for the Buenos Aires Regional production

FICJS International Film Festival for Social Justice


Bases of the 1st International Film Festival for Social Justice

The 1st International Film Festival for Social Justice will be held in Lincoln from November 10-13, 2023.

The Festival is organized by the non-profit Civil Association "Tero Seco" and G.I.D.I

REGISTRATION CONDITIONS
to. All those producers or filmmakers who own the rights to the works they present may participate.
b. Each participant may submit the number of films they want, as long as they have been made after 01/01/2020. Each film submitted to the contest must be sent on an independent support and with its own registration form. In case of promoting the registration by Platform (FESTHOME), complete the requirements in it.
c. The works will be presented in their original language. In the case of a version other than Spanish (Castilian), as an essential condition for admission, it must be subtitled in Spanish.
d. Films that were nominated in the previous edition will not be accepted.
and. The films must be visible on the Vimeo or YouTube platforms, sending the corresponding link.

CATEGORIES

All those films of national and international production, shot in any audiovisual format, in the Fiction, Animation, Documentary and Experimental categories that touch on topics related to:

Economic and social inequalities.
Human rights and social justice.
Environment and sustainability.
Diversity and social inclusion.

Its duration should not be less than 60 minutes.
The production date must be after January 1, 2020.

REGISTRATION FORM
It will be done by completing a registration form and sending the film to cineyjusticiasocial@gmail.com
In the event that the film is made in a version other than Spanish (Castilian), it must be subtitled yes or yes to Spanish.
To make the registration valid, it will be necessary to complete the registration form -which must be requested in advance- and have the film on the selected platform. You do not need to send it on paper.
Along with the selected film, the following information must be attached (by email to cineyjusticiasocial@gmail.com):
- Synopsis (maximum 300 characters including spaces).
- Biofilmography of the director and/or the production company (maximum 400 characters including spaces).
- Photograph of who directs in digital format (1920 x 1080 pixels).
- Two photographs for dissemination on social networks (1920 x 1080 pixels)
The participants authorize the organization to use frames, photographs and extracts from the films for dissemination in any communication and promotional medium, in order to promote and disseminate this Festival. The documentation and material sent for the selected works may appear in all the Festival's advertising and promotional media.
The registration period will end on September 15, 2023. All those submissions dated September 15, 2023 will be accepted within the term, as long as they are notified by email, indicating the title of the film and the name of the person directing ( or by email cineyjusticiasocial@gmail.com, through the Festival's website, before 11:59 p.m. on September 15, 2023).
The organization presupposes that the people or groups that register the works have the rights to exhibit them, as well as the authorization to receive the prize in the case of collective authorship. In any case, the organization exempts itself from any liability that may arise from the infringement of this base.

SELECTION
A selection committee, made up of media professionals and members of the Festival's organizing team, will be in charge of pre-selecting, among all the films received.
A committee of professionals will make the selection of those works that will participate in the Festival.
The decisions adopted will be communicated as of October 20, 2023.

AWARDS
Among all the selected works, a jury (made up of professionals from the cinematographic, artistic, and cultural fields and members of the organization with voice and without vote) will decide on the awarding of the prizes:
• Award for the best international film Fiction Categories
• Award for the best national film Fiction Categories
• Award for the best National Documentary Film
• Award for the best International Documentary Film
• "Roberto Cuervo" Award for the best Linqueño short film
• “Cineclub El Gabinete” Award for the Buenos Aires Regional production
The Jury and the Organization can establish special prizes. They will be able to determine, if they wish, special prizes for acting, script and technical items. Prizes can be cumulative.
PROJECTION
The selected films will be screened from November 10 to 13 from 2023 in the Cinema Space of the Tero Seco Cultural Center in the town of Lincoln, in the room of the G.I.D.I Cultural Center and in the Mobile Cinema in the squares.
In addition, the participants expressly accept their exhibition in the registration, without exception.

ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES
Participation in the 1st International Film Festival for Social Justice implies acceptance of all the sections of these bases, as well as the resolution by the organization of any problem not included in them.
