The forth edition of the Hurlingham Film Festival will take place from September 28 to October 1, 2023 at the Leopoldo Marechal Cultural Center (Av. Gdor. Vergara 2396) in the city of Hurlingham, with free admission.

The festival aims to promote culture and film production both in the city of Hurlingham and in the rest of the country.

The FESTIHUR will host a new space in the audiovisual universe with the intention of giving visibility and synergy between the number of actors in the new city, revealing identity, diversity and future.

The following distinctions will be awarded:

-Best Feature Film Award
-Best Documentary Film Award
-Best Fiction Short Award
-Best Documentary Short Award
-Best Animated Short Award
-Desafio Hurlingham Film 72 hs Short Award
-Winning Project 3rd Hurlingham Film Lab
-Short Prize School Contest
-Best Minute Video Award
-Best local short award
-Public Award

In addition, the organization of the Festival and the Jury reserve the right to deliver MENTIONS at their discretion.

1-General rules

1.1-Organizer and dates

4ª Hurlingham Film Festival will be held on 21 to 23 October 2023 at the New Theatre and Cosmopolitan Cinema (Gral. Martin Guemes 1647) from the city of Hurlingham, with free admission.

1.2- Eligibility and sections

They are accepted for the Official Competition: feature films and documentaries with a minimum duration of 60 minutes and short films of fiction and documentary of up to 15 minutes.

All productions can be both domestic and international and must have been completed after July 31, 2021.

NOTE 1: The Festival selection committee reserves the right to create other sections/categories.

NOTE 2: The festival reserves the right to select the film and place it in the section it deems appropriate.

1.3- Registration

Movie registration is free. Registration will be open from March 9 to June 23, 2023.

Registration can be done through the festival website or Festhome platforms.

1.4- Participation

Participation in the Festival implies acceptance of these regulations. Once registered and selected, the film cannot be removed from the Festival schedule. The persons linked to the selected films undertake not to disseminate their participation until the Festival's programming is announced by the Organization.

2- COMPETITION

2.1- Distinctions

The following distinctions shall be given:

- Best Fiction Feature Film

- Best Documentary Feature Film

- Best Fiction Short Film

- Best Documentary Short Film

In addition, the Organization of the Festival and the Jury reserve the right to deliver MENTIONS at their discretion

2.2- Mention of participation

The producers and distributors of those films that obtain distinctions undertake to highlight them in all their advertising and press material, using the Logo of the Festival that can be downloaded from the festival's website or requested from the organization.

3- Applications and materials required for selection

3.1- Materials required

The producer who detains the rights must complete in full the registration form found on the official website of the festival. There, all data corresponding to the work, including the link for viewing the work, will be requested. If the work is in a language other than Spanish, they must have Spanish subtitles). Failure to meet these requirements will not be selected.

Important: Mention in all cases whether it is a work in process, a first assembly or the final cut.

3.2- deadlines for submission

• To be eligible, movies must have been registered by July 2, 2022.

• The organization reserves the right to consider films outside the call.

3.3- Sending materials for selected films.

The producer, director, distributor shall send:
• Download link in H264 or .mov or MP4 format
• A photograph of the director
• Three photographs from the film
• Film poster
• Link Trailer
• Biofilmography of the director
• Synopsis
• Technical Data Sheet
• Film press material (optional)

Once the e-mail with the confirmation of selection has been received within the festiHur 2022 schedule, the requested material must be sent to the organization within 10 days. If the material is not received in that period, the film may be left out of the schedule.

The festival will not be responsible in any case for the cost of shipping the materials.


4- Selected movies

4.1- Catalogue

In order to successfully edit the catalogue, for each selected film, the Festival must receive the required material in a timely manner. Materials must be sent as soon as possible once the invitation of the film to the Festival has been accepted and respecting the deadline communicated in a timely manner. Decisions about the editorial contents of the catalogue are in charge of the Festival.

4.2- Press material

In case of having the same, posters, postcards and press materials will be required to be used by the Festival.

4.3- Fragments for promotion

The Festival may use fragments of films of a maximum of 3 minutes, for promotional purposes (for short films the duration of the fragments may not exceed 10% of the final duration of the works).

If the fragments are not available from the producer of the film, the Festival may copy one or more fragments of the film to be used for promotional purposes during the Festival.

In order to broadcast the programming and each of the selected films, the Festival will be able to use photos and digital clips (less than 3 minutes) of the films on its website.

4.4- Projection Dates

The organization of the Festival will prepare the assembly of the programming grid and the dates and schedules of screening of each film, which will be disseminated through the website and social networks of the festival.

4.5- Projection Formats

The download link in H264 or .mov or MP4 format will be accepted. The presentation in other formats may be requested by the organization of the festival.

Presentation in other formats or video systems requires authorization from the Festival.

4.6- Rights

The film representative finds that he/she owns the exhibition rights to the image, sounds and/or music used in the film.

5- About this regulation

Participation in the Festival implies acceptance of these regulations. Any dispute (organization or operation) not provided for in this regulation will be resolved by the organization of the Festival.
