The “1st National Short Film Festival of Itaiópolis - SC” – ITAICINE – is held through the Catarinense Cinema Award Special Edition Lei Paulo Gustavo 2023. It will take place from May 23 to 26, 2024 - it is an event dedicated to the promotion and celebration of diversity cinema, providing a space for filmmakers to explore and share their creative visions and narratives in short films. This festival will cover the genres of fiction, animation and documentary, which highlight different aspects of cinema, offering an enriching experience for the public and supporting the growth of national film production, as well as inspiring the public to dream, believe in the extraordinary and embrace the diversity of stories that can be told through cinema. A space where imagination can flourish and where the boundaries of reality are challenged. List the fundamental role of short films in the training of new filmmakers, allowing them to experiment, innovate and tell impactful stories in a concise and effective way, enriching Brazilian audiovisual culture and contributing to a diverse cinematographic scene.

Produced and directed by Nitram Produções Cinematográficas, Culturais e Editora Ltda, the 1st National Short Film Festival of Itaiópolis - ITAICINE - represents the celebration of the magic of cinema and the capacity that the seventh art has to transport us to worlds of adventure and fantasy, where our wildest dreams can come true on the big screen.

II – GOAL AND MAIN OBJECTIVES
The democratization of Brazilian audiovisual production is the main focus of the 1st Itaiópolis National Short Film Festival - ITAICINE. The Festival aims to contribute to the appreciation of authorial audiovisual products and features competitive exhibitions in its program established in three distinct categories: SHORT FICTION, SHORT DOCUMENTARY and SHORT ANIMATION.

The festival theme is anchored in productions that talk about “Adventures and Fantasies” and within the main theme we will bring three subgroups:

• Adventure, Travel and Nature: It is designed to celebrate and recognize films that explore the elements of adventure, fantasy, travel and nature, providing enriching cinematic experiences. This selection highlights the importance of preserving nature and exploring our ability to dream and imagine worlds beyond reality, while valuing the artistic quality and emotional impact of films. It promotes awareness of the relationship between humans and the environment, encouraging appreciation and respect for nature.

• Surreal Fantasy and Science Fiction: Here, films explore realms of dreams and alternative realities. Included will be tales that defy the laws of physics and feature magical characters, mythological beings and enchanted places, science fiction elements that explore futuristic concepts, time travel and parallel realities expanding the imagination and offering audiences the opportunity to escape into extraordinary worlds. Narratives that challenge the limits of reality, captivating viewers with exciting journeys, magical creatures and stunning landscapes.

• Children's Adventures: This category is dedicated to films suitable for all ages, which provide children and families with an unforgettable journey into magical worlds full of valuable lessons.

1) The opening for registrations at the 1st National Short Film Festival of Itaiópolis - ITAICINE will be between February 12th and March 24th, 2024 until 11:59 pm (Brasília time).

2) Brazilian Fiction and Documentary short films with a minimum duration of 5 and a maximum of 25 minutes (credits included), short Animation films with a minimum duration of 1 and a maximum of 25 minutes (credits included) are eligible to be registered. from January 1, 2022 and that have a display copy in a format in accordance with the technical specifications provided for in this regulation. The short films will be evaluated by a selection committee, which will direct the selected films to the exhibition most appropriate to the language and other artistic and technical requirements of the work.

3) For Short Fiction; Short Documentary and Short Animation.

4) Only a maximum of 2 (two) films will be accepted per director or group of directors, so that in the case of registrations beyond the limit, the 2 (two) most recent works will be considered.

5) The person responsible for registration must provide, at the time of registration, in a specific and available field, a link for complete viewing and

download the entire film, preferably on the Vimeo or YouTube platforms, and also the access password, when necessary. File transfer links such as Google Drive, WeTransfer, Dropbox, SendSpace, or any other data allocation tool that has an expiration date for the generated link will not be accepted. Physical media copies will not be accepted for registration.

6) Videos on YouTube must have their privacy set to “Not Listed”.

7) The Festival Organization is not responsible for problems contained in the VIMEO link, access problems in general, incorrect or changed passwords during the registration and evaluation period, or website security flaws.

8) In the case of films with duplicate registration, only the last registration form received by the organization of the 1st National Short Film Festival of Itaiópolis – ITAICINE will be considered.

9) For the selected films, the person responsible must make available, via a sharing website with a download option, a trailer or excerpt of up to 3 minutes in high quality of the work submitted for use in promotional materials and at least two images, to promote the film in media/press vehicles and social networks. Attached images must be in JPG or PNG format, with a resolution of 300dpi, preferably vertically.

10) Those responsible for the selected films must send the screening copy, when requested by the festival coordination, with the following technical specifications:
a) Formats: MP4 or MOV (Preferably MP4) and Codec H264 Stereo Audio 48KHz, 24 bit when there are subtitles, they must be encoded in UTF-8.
b) Support: Permanent links, preferably, such as Google Drive or Vimeo.

11) Any file format submitted outside the recommended standard will be handled by the technical team and will be subject to inefficient rendering. The 1st National Short Film Festival of Itaiópolis – ITAICINE - cannot be held responsible for any problems arising from this procedure.

12) All fields marked as mandatory items (indicated on the registration platform) must be filled in, otherwise the registration will not be completed.

13) The list of selected works will be available on the Festival website (www.itaicine.com.br) until April 29, 2024, this period being extendable at the discretion of the festival organization.

14) Exhibition copies and promotional material must be sent digitally by May 5, 2024.

15) The registration of films that are not completed by the registration deadline stipulated by the organization of the 1st National Short Film Festival of Itaiópolis - ITAICINE is prohibited.

16) The registered tenderer is responsible for all information contained in the registered form. To complete your registration, the applicant must check the box “I declare that I have read and agree with the regulations of the 1st National Short Film Festival of Itaiópolis - ITAICINE.

17) Registration will be confirmed after the applicant submits the form and receives an automatic confirmation email.

18) Registration is free and must be done via the website www.itaicine.com. br.
