Kursaal Film Festival San Sebastián (KFFSS) is an "OnLine" film festival promoted by the Kursaal Kino Cultural Association (A2K).

Planning:
- Registrations until August 15, 2020.
- Selection until September 1, 2020.
- Competition: September 15-30, 2020.
- Closing of the festival November 30, 2020.

- A WORLD WITH DIVERSE PEOPLE
- REALIZING WOMEN
- YOUNG FILMMAKERS (up to 35 years old)

Each Section will have three subsections: international, national and Gipuzkoa.

The prizes will consist of Certificate and accrediting Laurels for each section and subsection.

During the festival other parallel On-Line activities will take place such as talks, presentations, round tables, etc.

REQUIREMENTS

-Duration between 3 and 15 minutes.
-Gender of the short films is free, within the framework established by these bases.
-Each participant can register up to 2 short films.
-Date completed after January 1, 1997.
-Visible and accessible on Youtube or Vimeo.
-Spanish, English or Basque language. Short films in English and Basque, in addition to any other language, must be with Spanish subtitles.
-As an international festival, works from any country are accepted.
-The inscription must be made by the director, the producer or by the legal representatives of the distribution of the short film, who must have the rights to the contents of the work and the rest of the materials that it contributes.
-They must be original artistic works, the mere ones being excluded

The “Kursaal Film Festival San Sebastián” (KFFSS) is an online short film festival promoted by the Kursaal Kino Cultural Association (A2K).
By registering for the KFFSS, the participant agrees to submit to the following
PARTICIPATION BASES
The inscription is free.
1 /.- REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Duration between 3 and 15 minutes.
• Genre of short films is free, within the framework established by these bases.
• Each participant can register up to 2 short films.
• Completion date after January 1, 1997.
• Visible and accessible on Youtube or Vimeo.
• Spanish, English or Basque language. Short films in English and Basque, in addition to any other language, must be with Spanish subtitles.
• As an international festival, works from any country are accepted.
• The registration must be made by the director, the producer or by the legal representatives of the distribution of the short film (hereinafter filmmaker), who must have the rights to the content of the work and the rest of the materials that it contributes.
• They must be original artistic works, excluding the mere reproductions of events of any kind and those of an advertising nature.

a) .- 16: 9 or 4: 3 format> maximum 300 Mb
b) .- MP4, MOV, AVI are admitted.
c) .- Subtitles in separate SRT format, not inserted in the video.

5 /.- REGISTRATION PROCESS
As it is an online festival, the “Registered” films must be exhibited on behalf of the participants themselves on Vimeo or YouTube for viewing, public or private with a password, for the selection process.
The inscription is considered to be carried out provided that the fully completed inscription form has been delivered on time, stating the title of the work, Director or owner of the work (with his age and gender), country and year of completion, email of contact, a frame of the work presented, poster, the URL address where you can see the work on Vimeo or Youtube and the subtitles in SRT format.
Once the film has been officially selected, the filmmaker must send a copy of the film at the request of the KFFSS to enter the competition phase, and it cannot be withdrawn or changed from that moment.
6 /.- SELECTION PROCESS:
During the preliminary stages of the competition, a KFFSS team will be in charge of viewing the short films and will choose the “Selected” who meet all the participation requirements demanded in these bases and who meet minimum quality requirements.
A Jury chosen by KFFSS will determine the short films nominated for the finalists and the winners of the different awards and recognitions. The jury's decisions will be secret and final.

8 /.- PARTICIPANTS 'GUARANTEES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
In order that the rights of third parties are respected and to avoid anomalous situations in the development of the KFFSS, it is communicated that:
8.a) .- PROTECTION OF MINORS. KFFSS is a festival aimed at an adult audience (over the legal age of 18 years), so KFFSS and the other organizing entities of this festival (hereinafter “REOF”) cannot control, apart from other circumstances, which people minors. For this reason, KFFSS and REOF cannot accept any responsibility in this regard, warning that the parents and guardians will be the only ones responsible for controlling and assisting minors in navigating the KFFSS pages and the festival website, and they will be themselves responsible for enabling any other necessary mechanisms that, where appropriate, prevent access by minors, KFFSS and REOF not accepting any responsibility or claim in this regard.
8.b) .- CONTENT OF SHORT FILMS. The person / s or participating entity that registers a short film in the KFFSS must have all the intellectual property rights (music, script, etc.), image rights and public distribution rights by any means necessary for it, will be legally responsible for the content. thereof, they will be responsible for their content and for how many declarations, obligations and responsibilities are assumed by the fact of participation in accordance with the bases set forth in this document. The Short Films cannot contain any type of illicit or pornographic material or that violates any third party right. The participant will be solely and exclusively responsible for the claims that KFFSS receives (such as the jury or REOF) for this reason, exempting them from any liability arising from their use and assuming the economic or other responsibilities that may arise.
8.c) .- SHORT FILM RIGHTS. Participation in the KFFSS implies the free transfer by the participants, without any territorial limitation and for the maximum period of time provided by current legislation, of all the rights of reproduction, public communication, making available and distribution of the short films. presented to the festival (including fragments or trailers thereof and any type of graphic material from the short films, if required): (i) for inclusion and dissemination on the festival's website, in any of its editions, and in any other section of the festival website; (ii) in other public or private media outlets of KFFSS and REOF, as well as on the websites of public and / or private entities that participate in the festival; (iii), for cultural and non-profit purposes. In any case, and with respect to all the Selected Short Films, Finalists and Winners, the participants are informed that, even after the end of the festival, KFFSS will maintain the aforementioned powers, without any territorial limitation and for the maximum period of time provided in the current legislation in accordance with these Bases. Participants assume that KFFSS may communicate the names of the winners by any means of communication.
9 /.- VARIOUS.
In the event that (i) there were no participants; (ii) the follow-up was lower than expected, or (iii) the quality of the short films was not the minimum required by KFFSS and / or the Jury, the prizes may be declared void or the present edition of the festival may be canceled. It may also be canceled, in whole or in part, and the festival may be postponed, even once it has begun, due to circumstances of force majeure at the consideration of KFFSS.
KFFSS may withdraw from the festival any short film that does not meet the participation requirements required in these TERMS or does not comply with them.
In case of translation of these Terms and Conditions into any other language, the Spanish language version will always prevail.
The person responsible for the personal data provided as a result of participation in the KFFSS is A2K, who will treat them in accordance with the regulations applicable in Spain and according to the KFFSS privacy policy, which can also be found in the registration forms at KFFSS as a permanent link at the bottom of our website.
For any litigation that may arise from this festival, both KFFSS and the winners and other participants in it expressly waive any jurisdiction that may correspond to them, and expressly submit to the Courts and Tribunals of the city of San Sebastián (Spain ).
THE FACT TO PARTICIPATE OR ATTEMPT TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS EDITION OF THE FESTIVAL IS THE TOTAL ACCEPTANCE OF THESE BASES. IN CASE OF UNEXPECTED SITUATIONS KFFSS WILL DECIDE AT EVERY TIME.
