"Zero Plus" International Film Festival is aimed at:
1. promotion and popularization of high-quality films, which foster a positive, creative and formative worldview in children and young people, strengthen the common human values: family, childhood, friendship, kindness, nature, love for a profession.
2. integration of cinema and education by creating a collection of value-oriented films for carrying out educational screenings in schools and social institutions of Russia.

The Festival invites films, which foster a positive, formative and life-asserting worldview of children and young people:
• are focused on strengthening common human values: family, friendship, childhood, understanding between people, talents and creativity, nurture and education, value of life, concern for nature, love for a profession, etc.
• put forward such human qualities as kindness, friendliness, cheerfulness, care, diligence, generosity, humor, intelligence.
• propose innovative and effective cases and solutions of the tasks in the spheres of society, culture, ecology, nurture and education, politics, economics, technologies, etc.
The festival doesn’t consider films which visualize destructive meanings and scenes regarding:
• human personality: suffering, psychological disorder, suicidal thoughts, alcohol and drugs addiction, etc.
• family, interpersonal relationships, social affairs: scandals, betrayals, violence, unresolved conflicts and dramas, careless attitude towards one another, crimes, wars, etc.
• environment: disrespectful attitude to the nature, plant life, wildlife, planet in general.

The non-competition program invites:
• feature and short films, documentaries, and animated films of any duration and year of production, which correspond to the festival criteria.
If the original language of the submitted films is not English, English subtitles are required.
One applicant can submit 3 films at maximum. The films which were selected to the previous editions of the festival cannot participate in the competition program of the 8th Zero Plus film festival.
THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS APRIL 20, 2021.
AGE RECOMMENDATIONS
The festival management has the right to provide the age recommendation for each selected film and illustrate it in the festival’s schedule and program. The numerical value of the recommendation cannot be lower than the value stated by a director or a production company.
EDUCATIONAL FILM COLLECTION & ZEROPLUS.TV
All the films selected for the Festival program – both, competition and non-competition, with the consent of right holders, can be included in the “Zero Plus” film collection and applied in non-commercial educational screenings in schools and social institutions of Russia as well as screened online at zeroplus.tv for the audience of Russian children and parents. The consent of the right holder can be confirmed in the online submission form on zeroplusff.ru.
SUBMISSION, DOCUMENTATION, FILM COPIES
One of the ways to submit a film to the Festival is to use the online submission form in the section Submission on the Festival website zeroplusff.ru. It is necessary to provide a link for the online screener or a download link of a light version of the submitted film for the selection screening. It is highly recommended to use those file sharing services, in which the file storage period is not limited and can last till the beginning of the Festival (Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive).
The other way to submit a film is using platform Festhome.com.
Directors of the films selected for the Festival short list will have been notified of it by July 1, 2021. After that, not later than July 15, 2021 a participant should send to info@zeroplusff.ru:
- 2 photos of the director in HQ (portrait format is preferable);
- 2-3 film stills in HQ;
- a poster of the film in HQ;
- a dialogue list or an srt. file (subtitles) in English;
- a Full HD copy of the trailer of the film with English subtitles;
- a Full HD copy of the film with English subtitles in .MP4 format via a download link. If a DCP-copy is available either, this is to be mentioned in the submission form;
- a Full HD copy of the film without subtitles in .MP4 format via a download link.
When sending film copies via post, it is advisable to mark the envelope as follows: “No commercial value, for cultural purposes only”. It is participants who cover the expenses on the shipping of DCPs.
The Festival takes responsibility for copyright observance and safety of the film copies.

By submitting your film to this category, you provide the festival management with the right to include it in the “Zero Plus” film collection and apply it in non-commercial educational screenings in schools and social institutions of Russia as well as screen it online via "Zero Plus" online cinema platform for the audience of Russian children and parents (after the festival experts consider the film corresponding the festival criteria).
