La Burbuja Lab announces its third edition of the Film Residency for Women from Central America and the Caribbean in 2026. This residency is aimed at female filmmakers developing their first or second feature film, whether fiction, documentary, or animation. Over eight days, selected participants will engage in an intensive program of creation, guidance, and collective reflection, designed to strengthen their cinematic projects.
Participants will receive specialized mentorship in directing, screenwriting, production, portfolio design, and pitch preparation. The program also includes masterclasses and opportunities to connect with networks of women in film, fostering professional and creative exchange. The residency will take place at the International Film and Television School (EICTV) in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, from June 22 to 29, 2026. This initiative aims to enhance the artistic and professional development of emerging filmmakers in the region, providing concrete tools to advance their projects toward production and exhibition stages.

Rough Shorts is a category of the Bogotá Audiovisual Market (BAM) that offers an editing lab for short films. In the 2025 edition, BAM reaffirms its commitment to short films and to Colombian producers and directors, inviting them to participate in this lab focused on reviewing narrative construction through editing. PITCH LAB – DOC.LAB Coimbra 2026 es un laboratorio de desarrollo y pitch de documentales de largometraje que se llevará a cabo en Coimbra, Portugal, del 16 al 20 de marzo de 2026. Está dirigido a proyectos en etapa de desarrollo que cuenten con un teaser, ofreciendo a los cineastas la oportunidad de presentar sus ideas frente a profesionales de la industria y recibir retroalimentación especializada.
La convocatoria está abierta a postulaciones internacionales, permitiendo que cineastas de cualquier país participen. Los proyectos deben ser documentales y el enfoque principal es el pitch, aunque los participantes también pueden trabajar en la estructuración y fortalecimiento de sus proyectos durante el laboratorio.
La fecha límite de postulación es el 23 de enero de 2026. Los interesados deben enviar su dossier y teaser, cumpliendo con los requisitos establecidos por el programa. The Ópera Prima LAB 2026 call from the Cartagena International Film Festival is open to filmmakers from Ibero-America, South America, and the Caribbean, accepting international submissions. The lab is designed to support first feature film or first series projects in the development stage, providing mentorship, workshops, and a final pitch to industry professionals.
Projects of any genre are accepted, including fiction, documentary, animation, or hybrid formats. Applicants must submit a complete script or written pilot, along with development materials such as synopsis and creative dossier. The program focuses on script and creative development, not on completed projects.
Submissions are open from November 26, 2025, to January 18, 2026. The lab will take place virtually from March to April 2026, with in-person sessions from April 14 to 19, 2026, during the festival in Cartagena, Colombia.
