The Cinekid Script LAB open call launches in March 2025 for writers of children’s feature films or series. A cohort of 12–15 is selected to participate in a six‑month programme (October 2025–March 2026), working on an enhanced script draft with one‑on‑one coaching, workshops at the Cinekid Festival (Amsterdam) and Berlinale (Berlin), plus networking events.

Minimum materials: treatment, character descriptions, motivation letter, link to previous work.
Fees: open‑call writers cover their own participation fees; scholarships are available for writers from “low‑capacity” EU countries. A nomination route also exists, with costs covered by international partners.

FICBUEU Residency is an intensive short film development program held from October 15–21, 2025, on Ons Island (Galicia, Spain). It targets filmmakers with early-stage projects and a first draft script (max. 30 pages). All genres and styles are welcome, with a focus on strong authorial voices.

The call is international, though 60% of slots are reserved for Galician creators and women are encouraged to apply. Fluency in Spanish is required; scripts must be in or translated into Spanish.

Selected participants receive mentoring, specialized training, and support to strengthen project quality and feasibility.

La Residencia Navarra (LRN) opens its fourth edition for 2025, aimed at emerging European producers, directors, and screenwriters. The program supports audiovisual projects in fiction feature films, documentaries, and series through mentorships, workshops, and masterclasses, both in-person and online. Applications are open until May 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM. The program runs from June to September 2025, offering prizes totaling €150,000. Activities mainly take place in Navarra, providing an ideal environment for creativity. The program includes personalized mentorships, practical workshops, masterclasses led by industry professionals, and a final pitch at the San Sebastián Film Festival. The Ibizacinefest Pitching selects 4 documentary and fiction feature film projects of Spanish production, which will be presented online to our advisor Ángela Bosch.

INDUSTRY: IBIZA SHORT FILM SCRIPT FESTIVAL
The theme of the scripts is completely free and can belong to any genre.
All submitted works must be original. In the event that the contestant uses a novel, story or text by another author as the basis for the script, the contestant must include the corresponding authorization from the author of the original work in their registration.

The EICTV Screenwriting Chair announces the 4th Audiovisual Screenwriting Residency, running from September 8 to December 5, 2025, in Havana. Five original feature‑film projects in development (Spanish or Portuguese) will be selected. Open to screenwriters and audiovisual professionals with prior experience, it comprises 13 weeks of intensive training: dramaturgy, structure, treatment, outline, scene writing, rewriting and tutor guidance. Application deadline: May 23, 2025; results on June 17. Required materials: CV, portfolio, synopsis, personal short story and application form (send to maestriaguion@gmail.com). Fee: €5,000.
