The Málaga Film Festival announces the RTVE Talent Award Festival de Málaga / Málaga Short Corner, aimed at fiction short film script projects. The call is open to registered production companies in Spain and seeks to support the creation of new short films up to 30 minutes in length.
Applications are open until February 2, 2026. Selected projects will have the opportunity to be presented at the Málaga Short Corner (MAFIZ) during the festival’s industry and market section, taking place from March 10 to 12, 2026. This platform allows creators to pitch their projects to a jury and industry professionals, enhancing visibility and potential production or distribution support.
The award focuses exclusively on fiction short films and does not accept international submissions outside Spain. The call emphasizes both artistic quality and professional development potential, providing a platform for emerging talent within the Spanish audiovisual landscape.

Project Space - IDFA
The Spanish Film Academy opens applications for its 2026 Summer Campus, a training program aimed at emerging and professional filmmakers worldwide. Applications are accepted from January 14 to February 11, 2026, and the program will take place from June 21 to July 4 in Valencia, Spain.
The campus functions as a creative and professional laboratory, focusing on mentoring, project development, and guidance in scriptwriting and directing actors. Fiction projects related to diversity are accepted, including feature films with completed scripts and fiction series with a developed pilot. The program is open internationally, allowing filmmakers from any country to apply.
The initiative aims to provide an intensive space for learning and networking, helping participants strengthen their projects with the support of experienced professionals and gain valuable audiovisual experience. It combines practical training with personalized mentorship, fostering creativity and the professional development of the selected projects.

Summer Campus – Film Academy
The Research & Development Grant from Chicken & Egg Films is aimed at filmmakers who identify as women or gender-expansive, including cis women, trans, non-binary, two-spirit, and agender individuals. The program supports feature-length documentary projects in early research or development stages, providing funding and guidance to strengthen narrative and creative planning.
Applications are open from December 3, 2025, to February 4, 2026, with an early-bird deadline on January 7, 2026. Results will be announced in mid-July 2026, and project development will run from July 2026 to May 2027.
The grant is open internationally, accepting filmmakers from around the world, except those in countries under U.S. sanctions. Only feature-length documentaries in research or development are eligible; short films, series, and projects in advanced production are not accepted. This program offers a valuable opportunity to nurture projects from their conception with an inclusive and global approach.

Research & Development Grant - Chicken & Egg Films
The Latin American Screenwriting Development Group #2 – Marieta is an international script development lab organized in Brazil and held entirely online. The call is open to screenwriters from Latin America, either by nationality or by having resided in the region for at least five years.
The program focuses on the development of feature-length projects, both fiction and documentary, at different stages of the writing process. It operates as a creative laboratory, offering weekly sessions aimed at strengthening the screenplay and supporting each author’s creative journey.
Projects must be submitted in Spanish, which is the main working language of the group, although advanced portuñol is accepted. The initiative is not intended for completed films or market-oriented activities, but rather for in-depth development processes.

Latin American Script Development Group
ECAM FORUM was created to promote audiovisual production, foster emerging Spanish talent, and internationalize audiovisual projects and companies.
It is a co-production forum aiming to become an essential platform for the advancement of the Spanish audiovisual sector, bridging the national and international audiovisual industries, and connecting top talent with a significant delegation of international audiovisual industry representatives.
A carefully selected range of audiovisual projects in various categories (feature films in development, feature films in postproduction, short films, and series) share workspace with decision-makers from the international audiovisual world through presentations, screenings, meeting agendas, one-to-one sessions, scheduled encounters, seminars, conferences, and industry rendezvous.
In its first edition, ECAM FORUM attracted programmers from festivals such as Berlinale, Cannes Quinzaine, Locarno, Rotterdam, Toronto, San Sebastián, Sundance, Marrakesh, Zurich, the New York Film Festival, and Series Mania, sales agents like Coproduction Office, Goodfellas, Mk2, Films Boutique, or Alpha Violet, markets such as Les Arcs, MIA Market, MAFIZ, BAM Bogotá, or Cinemart, and leading independent production companies from France, Italy, Sweden, Belgium, the USA, Portugal, Austria, Germany, Greece, Argentina, Uruguay, among others.
