Curta Roteiros – 1st Short Film Script Contest rewards unpublished screenplays written in Portuguese, created for independent cinema. Open to professional and amateur writers worldwide, as long as the script hasn't been produced, published, co-authored, or generated using AI.
Submissions are open from June 5 to July 5, 2025, via form (30 BRL) or Festhome (8 USD). Scripts must be PDF, max 30 pages, using Courier New 12, with a cover page including title, author or pseudonym.
Scripts will be judged on originality, structure, coherence, characters, writing quality, technical feasibility, and emotional/social impact. Finalists will be announced July 25, and winners on August 1 during the Curta Cine Sumaré Festival.
Winners receive digital certificates, laurels, and symbolic cash prizes (120, 50, and 30 BRL via PIX). Honorable mentions may also be awarded.

Curta Roteiros - Short Film Script Contest
The International Art Direction Residency for Film, organized by CIBEF, will take place from April 7 to 18, 2025, in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico. This intensive program is aimed at students, professionals, and creatives interested in visual storytelling and set design for cinema.
Through hands-on and theoretical sessions, participants will learn to analyze scripts and design both physical and digital film sets. The program features expert-led classes, cultural site visits, and collaborative project work. Participants will create scale models and receive professional feedback on their final projects.
The application deadline is February 21, 2025. Applicants must submit a statement of purpose (or video), resume, and a sample of scenographic work or a drawing. The cost is $1,750 USD for international applicants and $27,000 MXN + VAT for Mexican nationals. The residency includes materials, local transportation, a welcome kit, and access to the CIBEF library.

CIBEF – International Residency in Art Direction for Film
Polish Days is the key industry event of the New Horizons International Film Festival, held in Wrocław, Poland, from July 17 to 27, 2025. Polish Days is expected to take place mid-festival, likely between July 20–22 (dates TBC).
The call is open to Polish film projects in three categories: completed films, works in progress, and projects in development. Selected participants benefit from private screenings, pitching sessions, and one-on-one meetings with international sales agents, distributors, and festival programmers.
Industry accreditations opened on May 6, 2025, and close on June 17, 2025, or earlier if capacity is reached. Project submissions typically close between May and early June, depending on the category.

CIBEF - International Residency in Film Directing
D’A Film Lab Barcelona 2025 was open from November 22 to December 23, 2024. During that period, projects could be submitted through the Incoproduction platform. The lab took place from March 30 to April 2, 2025, as part of the D’A – Festival de Cinema de Barcelona. The program was divided into two sections: Final Cut, aimed at Spanish feature films in postproduction, and Emerging Production, focused on emerging production companies developing their first feature film. Throughout the lab, selected projects received professional mentoring, took part in training activities, and gained access to networking opportunities within the international audiovisual industry. Additionally, one of the films participating in the Final Cut section was awarded a €20,000 prize granted by a professional jury.

D’A Film Lab Barcelona
Ikusmira Berriak is a residency and project development program that supports and promotes emerging talent and audiovisual creation. The objective of the residence is to offer space, context, time and resources, for which it articulates its program around two axes: training and development.
