The From the Root Screenwriting Residency, organized by Fundación Algo en Común, is aimed at screenwriters and filmmakers from Black, Afro-descendant, Raizal, Palenquero, Rrom, and Indigenous communities from Colombia, the Americas, and their diasporas. The program seeks to strengthen their voices and stories in the audiovisual field. Twenty fiction feature film projects will be selected. The residency will take place from September 1 to November 28, 2025, including virtual activities and a two-week immersion in Cali, Colombia. Participants will receive training in screenwriting, personalized mentoring, and support in project development. At the end, a networking session with the industry will be held to present the projects to producers and specialized audiences. Applications are open until July 27, 2025.

The INCAA opened the 2025 Contest for finished audiovisual fiction and/or animation scripts, including feature films and series. Fifteen film scripts will be awarded US$10,000 each, and three series scripts US$15,000 each. Participants must be Argentine or foreign residents in Argentina, over 18 years old. Scripts must be original, unpublished, and cannot have started filming or won previous INCAA awards. Registration is online until July 31, 2025. The jury has up to 90 days to announce results, which will be published on INCAA’s website. This call aims to promote original audiovisual creation with professional quality and is a great opportunity for screenwriters to boost their careers in Argentina.

The BAMprojects – Fiction Films call by the Bogotá Audiovisual Market is aimed at feature-length fiction films in development. Applications open on November 13, 2025, and close on January 8, 2026, at 3:59 pm Colombia time. This call is open exclusively to national projects; the production company must be a Colombian legal entity, and the director must hold Colombian nationality.

Selected projects will take part in a development program including preliminary meetings from March 30 to April 1, 2026, and a mentoring route from April 20 to June 5, 2026. The program culminates with the Bogotá Audiovisual Market, taking place from July 6 to 10, 2026.

Only feature-length fiction films with a minimum duration of 70 minutes and at least 20 % of funding secured are eligible. Projects should not have begun shooting. The call aims to promote the development of Colombian fiction films, providing visibility and networking opportunities within the audiovisual industry.

The BAM Projects – Animation in Development call from the Bogotá Audiovisual Market is open to animated series and feature film projects in development. Applications opened on November 13, 2025, and will close on January 8, 2026, at 3:59 pm Colombia time. It is exclusively for Colombian legal entities and directors with experience in audiovisual production.

The selection process includes project evaluations from January 9 to March 26, 2026, with the announcement of selected projects between March 27 and 31, 2026. Accepted projects will participate in orientation and assessment meetings from April 6 to 10, 2026, followed by a development and strengthening program from April 20 to June 5, 2026. The projects will then be showcased during the main BAM event from July 6 to 10, 2026.

This call aims to strengthen animation projects in development by providing professional support, feedback, and funding opportunities, promoting Colombian animation visibility in the audiovisual market.

Simbiosis Inmersiva Lab is an in‑person lab taking place in Valdivia from October 10–13, 2025, within the 32nd Valdivia International Film Festival. It brings together audiovisual creators and scientists to develop immersive projects (VR, AR, MR) that merge science and art, promoting science outreach through new technologies.

Chilean citizens or residents with experience in film, science, or tech can apply. Projects may be early‑stage or in development, with no restriction on genre or narrative, as long as they include scientific content and a clear XR immersive approach.

The program covers local transport, meals, and lodging. Attendance is mandatory. Guidance is provided by renowned mentors.

Applications open until August 14, 2025. Results announced in early September.
