The Cinenido 2025 call for the international screenwriting residency is open to screenwriters worldwide with audiovisual projects at any stage (fiction, documentary, film or TV, animation or live action). The residency will take place from July 28 to August 4, 2025, at El Molino de Lecrín Farm School (Granada, Spain).

The program stands out for its family-friendly approach: selected participants may attend with children under 14, who will enjoy creative and nature-based activities while parents develop their scripts. Between 10 and 12 screenwriters will be selected.

The application deadline is June 5, 2025, at 23:59 (Spain time). The fee is €1,490 per adult and €350 per child, covering training, lodging, and meals.

The Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), in collaboration with Netflix’s Fund for Creative Equity, announces the 3rd Film Project Development Lab for Indigenous and Afrodescendant Filmmakers in Mexico. 10 filmmakers will be selected with projects in development (fiction, documentary, animation, transmedia, or hybrid). The lab will take place October 8–12, 2025, in Morelia, with travel, lodging, and meals covered.

Eligibility: Mexican nationals or legal residents who identify as Indigenous or Afrodescendant, with a project in development (script or advanced treatment required).

The 4th Girls Just Wanna Have FAN call is part of Sitges Festival’s WomanInFan program, aimed at female filmmakers developing fantastic genre projects. It seeks to promote visibility and support for women in the industry through the creation of a short teaser showcasing a fantastic feature film project.

Ten finalists and one winner will be selected. The winner receives €10,000 to produce the short, production support, industry accreditation, project presentation opportunities, and accommodation during the Sitges FanPitch.

Requirements include that both the feature and short are directed by women, the script must be up to 10 pages, the project must be fantastic fiction, and submission of a dossier, pitch video, and budget proposal is necessary. The call opens on March 10, 2025, and closes June 30, 2025.

This initiative fosters creation, visibility, and professional growth of women in fantastic cinema.

SAPCINE FICCALI 2026 is an audiovisual industry call organized in Cali, Colombia, as part of the Cali International Film Festival. It is aimed at producers from Ibero-America and Italy with feature film projects in advanced development or post-production. The call accepts both national and international applications, with designated slots for Colombian and international projects.

It only accepts fiction and documentary feature films within an industry format that combines laboratory activities, market meetings, pitching sessions, project mentoring, and professional networking opportunities. Short films, series, and other audiovisual formats are not eligible.

Applications for the 2026 edition were open from February 15 to April 22, 2026. Selected projects will first participate in preparatory activities and later attend the in-person program held from October 20 to 25, 2026, in Cali, during the Cali International Film Festival.

The Ibero-American Work In Progress (WIP) of SANFIC Industria will hold its 14th edition from August 17–22, 2025, in Santiago, Chile. This initiative supports Ibero-American fiction and documentary films in postproduction, aiming to help them reach completion and international exposure. Submissions are open until May 26, 2025. Up to 10 projects will be selected for hybrid screenings with industry professionals. Selected films compete for awards including postproduction services, consulting, and entry into markets like MAFIZ (Málaga). SANFIC Industria stands out as a key platform for the international promotion of emerging Ibero-American cinema.
