The 2025 Shorts México Short Film Script Competition is open until May 31, 2025. Mexican citizens or residents may submit original, unfilmed short film scripts. Scripts must be a maximum of 10 pages, written in Spanish, in industry-standard screenplay format, and registered with INDAUTOR. Author names must not appear on the script.
Submit your PDF script, along with proof of registration and payment, to guionshortsmexico@gmail.com. Entry is via FilmFreeway or FestHome.
Winners will be announced on August 20, 2025. The first prize is $7,000 MXN and the second prize is $3,000 MXN. Selected scripts will be published in the official festival catalog and awarded a certificate of participation.

Shorts Mexico - Short film script
MAJORDOCSPITCH 2025 is an open call for non-fiction filmmakers with feature-length documentaries in development, work in progress, or rough cut stages. Up to five projects will be selected to take part in a preparation and presentation program held in Palma de Mallorca.
The program includes a rehearsal session for pitching in English with an international mentor, followed by the official presentation before a panel of festival programmers, distributors, and industry professionals. Each project will have 15 minutes to present and receive feedback, as well as one-to-one meetings with invited experts.
Applications are open until September 30, 2025, and require an English-subtitled teaser, a completed form, and a registration fee of €15. The festival provides accreditation, inclusion in its catalogue, and one night of accommodation.
Awards include participation in the Industry Days of the Beldocs 2026 festival, with accreditation and expenses covered, as well as distribution consultancy from DOCMA and a one-year free membership in this association. All selected projects must acknowledge their participation in MAJORDOCSPITCH 2025 in the film’s credits.

MAJORDOCS PITCH
The Mexican Short Film Pitching Competition at Shorts México 2025 invites Mexican filmmakers, producers, directors, and film students or residents in Mexico to submit multiple short film projects in Spanish, on any theme. Scripts must be registered with INDAUTOR. Submissions are open from February 17 to May 31, 2025. The winning project will receive an in-kind prize valued at approximately $800,000 MXN for short film production, including filming equipment provided by CTT Exp & Rentals. The competition will take place on September 13, 2025, in Mexico City.

Shorts Mexico - Short Film Pitching
BrLab Features 2026 is an intensive laboratory focused on the development of feature-length fiction projects, including animation and hybrid formats. The call is open to projects from Latin America, Portugal, and Spain, accepting international submissions. The program offers mentorship, consultancy, and workshops aimed at strengthening projects in development and preparing teams for the film industry.
Applications are open from November 12 to December 12, 2025, and the laboratory will take place in person from April 7 to 14, 2026, in São Paulo, Brazil. The call is exclusively for feature-length projects; short films and series are not accepted. This program provides a unique opportunity for creators seeking professional guidance and strategic development of their projects, in a collaborative environment with industry experts.

BrLab Features
The European Work in Progress 2025 call seeks European feature films or co-productions in shooting, post-production, or advanced finishing stages. Projects must include real footage clips with English subtitles to present to film industry professionals.
Up to 30 projects will be selected, with the opportunity to pitch for 15 minutes and participate in Q&A sessions, one-to-one meetings, workshops, and networking events. The aim is to secure additional funding, distribution, and international visibility.
The submission deadline is August 14, 2025. Projects must have at least 10 minutes of available footage and meet European production criteria. This year, awards total €120,000, provided by new and returning sponsors. The program continues its collaboration with TorinoFilmLab, including projects from its development programs. Participation is open to producers from any country, as long as their project meets the European eligibility requirements.
