The LUSCA Fantastic Film Fest – Screenplay Contest 2026 is a screenwriting competition organized by LUSCA Film Fest, a fantastic film festival held in Puerto Rico. The call is aimed at screenwriters, filmmakers, and producers interested in genres such as fantasy, science fiction, comedy, and bizarre cinema, including related subgenres. It accepts short film screenplays of up to 10 pages, written in Spanish and/or English, that are original, unpublished, and without previous production agreements.

LUSCA Film Fest - Screenplay Contest
Munich Film Up! is an international mentorship and residency program for emerging filmmakers developing their first fiction feature film. It is aimed at film students in their final year or recent graduates (up to three years) looking to advance their screenplay development.
The program provides seven months of support, including personalized mentoring, online workshops, and a three-week residency at one of the partner residencies. Participants begin their journey at Munich’s Future Storytellers Festival, where they connect with industry professionals and fellow filmmakers.
The program concludes at the Cannes Film Festival, where projects are presented to the industry and the Kirch Foundation Award is granted, offering €5,000 to the winning project for further development.
Key dates for the 2025/26 edition are from June 23 to August 1, 2025. Munich Film Up! is a unique opportunity for emerging filmmakers seeking professional support and international visibility for their first feature film.

BIFF LAB
The Italians Doc It Better is a call for Italian documentary projects to be presented at the MIA Market 2025 in Rome (October 6-10, 2025). It targets producers with documentaries in post-production, rough cut, or finished stages that have not yet been publicly screened or distributed.
The goal is to promote Italian documentary cinema by offering a platform to showcase projects and facilitate international distribution across cinemas, TV, and streaming platforms. Eligible projects include feature-length documentaries, docuseries, and single documentary films for television.
The submission deadline is August 10, 2025. Selected projects will gain exposure to industry professionals, distributors, and broadcasters, increasing their chances for co-production and distribution deals.

MIA - Italians Doc It Better
Women Work in Progress es una iniciativa del Cerdanya Film Festival (España) dirigida a mujeres cineastas menores de 30 años que lideren proyectos audiovisuales en fase de postproducción. El programa ofrece mentorías, asesorías y la oportunidad de presentar los proyectos ante profesionales de la industria, con el objetivo de fortalecer su desarrollo y facilitar futuras oportunidades de financiación, distribución y exhibición.
La convocatoria tiene un carácter internacional y acepta proyectos de ficción, documental, animación, series y transmedia, siempre que se encuentren en etapa de postproducción. Pueden postular tanto cortometrajes como largometrajes, además de otros formatos audiovisuales contemplados en las bases del programa.
La fecha límite de postulación es el 15 de abril de 2026. Las actividades se desarrollarán en el marco del Cerdanya Film Festival, que se celebrará del 1 al 16 de agosto de 2026 en Puigcerdà, España.

FICC - Women WIP
La Residencia de Cine de Extremadura es un laboratorio internacional de desarrollo dirigido a proyectos de largometraje en etapa de desarrollo. La convocatoria está abierta a cineastas de España, Extremadura, Portugal e Iberoamérica, y recibe proyectos de ficción, documental y animación. El programa ofrece un proceso de acompañamiento de un año mediante residencias presenciales, asesorías personalizadas, mentorías y actividades de industria, incluyendo la participación en MAFIZ del Festival de Málaga y otros espacios profesionales.
La convocatoria para la edición 2026–2027 estará abierta del 1 de julio al 1 de septiembre de 2026. El programa se desarrollará entre noviembre de 2026 y noviembre de 2027, combinando encuentros presenciales y sesiones online. La residencia está orientada exclusivamente a proyectos de largometraje en desarrollo que busquen fortalecer su propuesta creativa y preparar su estrategia de financiación, producción y circulación internacional.
