The Sitges - International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia announces its fourth edition of the WomanInFan program, which aims to promote female creators in the fantasy film industry. This initiative offers a contest to create a short teaser for a future fantasy feature film, with a prize of €10,000 for production. The selected projects will also receive industry accreditation and be showcased at the Sitges Festival. Additionally, the program offers a residency for filmmakers to develop their projects, with mentorship and intensive support during the festival.

Sitges FanPitch 2025 is an international competition for pitch projects focused on feature films and series in the horror, sci-fi, and fantasy genres. The event, held during the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival, will select up to 7 feature films and 5 series worldwide. The selected projects can pitch to industry leaders and win travel grants, including opportunities to attend international festivals like Bucheon, Fantasia, and more. A cash prize of €2,500 is offered to the best series project. A special focus is placed on Catalan projects with the Catalunya Imaginària initiative.

SITGES - FanPitch
The Script Review Workshop offers independent filmmakers from around the world the opportunity to work intensively on their feature-length fiction screenplays in an environment designed to foster professional collaboration and the development of high-quality scripts. The Script Review Workshop consists of a two-week workshop-residency and a two-day online follow-up module.
The workshop facilitators are professionals with extensive experience. In addition to guidance for script development provided in both group and individual working sessions, participants have dedicated time for writing. The workshop gives each participant the opportunity to discuss their project with a group of international filmmakers, be part of a community of artists with similar sensibilities, and gain access to Cine Qua Non Lab’s network of filmmakers.

Our Short Film Fund initiative supports the production of a short film screenplay (20 pages max) or the completion of a short film (under 20 minutes) with a grant of up to £5,000 (approx $6,300), a kit rental package, and in-kind post production services. Filmmakers can apply without a producer – we can help you find one if your project is selected.

Unsolicited Scripts Short Film Fund
The Magic Screenplay call is a special section of the San Benedetto International Film Festival (SBFF), held in San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy. This contest aims to discover and promote new talents in screenwriting, both nationally and internationally. The main objective is to select the best pitch with a predefined theme, which will then be developed into a complete script and produced as a short film of no more than 15 minutes. This project will be produced by the Associated Professionals Association of Art & Management "IL SERPENTE AUREO," in collaboration with the FILM COMMISSION MARCHE and the MARCHE REGION, under the patronage of the City of San Benedetto del Tronto.
