Episodio 0: Series in Development is an Industry initiative of the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG), Mexico, aimed at series projects originating from the Ibero-American region. The call accepts fiction (scripted) and documentary (unscripted) series in development, with a complete dossier and a first written version of the pilot episode.

The application period opens on August 10, 2026, and closes on October 16, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Central Mexico time. The program will last three days within the Industry activities of FICG 42, which will take place from March 6 to 13, 2027; the specific dates of those three days are not specified. The initiative includes a closed pitch session and individual meetings with industry professionals.

The Galician Freaky Film Festival (GFFF), based in Spain, hosts an international call aimed at the development of short films within the fantastic genre. The initiative supports original projects in horror, science fiction, and other “freak”-related subgenres, specifically targeting works that are still in development and not yet produced.

The call is open to participants of any nationality, including individuals, production companies, film schools, and similar entities. Selected projects will take part in a pitching session, where they must present and defend their proposals before a professional jury during the festival.

The submission deadline is May 11, 2026, and the festival — including the pitching event — will take place from September 18 to 26, 2026.

Encuentros BioBioCine 8 will take place in Concepción, Chile, from January 27 to 30, 2026. The opening date for submissions corresponding to 2026 is not specified in the guidelines. The call includes national and international participation.

The event includes Script Consulting, BioBioLab, Documentary Internship, Corte Final Lab, and Business Meetings, with laboratory, consulting, pitch, and market activities. It accepts fiction, documentary, and animation projects, as well as 360 projects in the Business Meetings. Accepted formats include scripts, film projects, feature films, and series. The call covers projects at different stages of development and production, depending on the category.

The Script Review Workshop offers independent filmmakers from around the world the opportunity to work intensively on their feature-length fiction screenplays in an environment designed to foster professional collaboration and the development of high-quality scripts. The Script Review Workshop consists of a two-week workshop-residency and a two-day online follow-up module.

The workshop facilitators are professionals with extensive experience. In addition to guidance for script development provided in both group and individual working sessions, participants have dedicated time for writing. The workshop gives each participant the opportunity to discuss their project with a group of international filmmakers, be part of a community of artists with similar sensibilities, and gain access to Cine Qua Non Lab’s network of filmmakers.

The 2026 Ibero-American Screenwriting Residency, organized by Fundación Algo en Común in Colombia, is a creative development program aimed at Ibero-American screenwriters with fiction feature film projects in development. The call is open to participants from Ibero-American countries, including Latin America, Spain, Portugal, and Puerto Rico.

Applications will be open until July 12, 2026. The in-person residency will take place from September 28 to October 23, 2026, in Cali, Colombia, followed by a virtual project acceleration program from October 19 to November 6, 2026, and a Production Meeting during November 2026.

The program is a screenwriting residency and film development laboratory that provides script mentoring, creative support, and industry networking opportunities. It accepts fiction feature film projects with at least a first written draft of the screenplay.
