RULES FOR THE CALL FOR THE NATIONAL FEATURE FILM COMPETITION “OPERA PRIMA”, OF THE 7TH INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL OF PILAR DE LA HORADADA 2023.
1.- The scope of the contest is national. All those Spanish production companies or directors may participate.

have previously participated in a co-direction.
The works will be presented in their original language, if it is not Spanish, they must be subtitled in this language. The
registration is free.

4.- Only one feature film per director will be admitted to the competition. The production company can present as many works
as you wish.
5.- The call and registration period for feature films opens on June 12, 2023, closing the
admission of works on September 8 of the same year.
6.- The registration and submission of the works will be done online, through the Festhome platform.
7.- A Selection Committee made up of professionals from the environment and members of the organization's team
of the Festival will be in charge of selecting, among all the feature films presented, those that
will participate in the "FEATURE FILMS 'OPERA PRIMA' SECTION", which will be screened during the days of
celebration of the Contest in the room chosen by the organization and will compete for the PILAR PRIZE "BEST
FEATURE FILM OPERA PRIMA”.
The decision of the Selection Committee is final. The selection will be made public during the month of October
2023.
The Festival will inform all those selected in writing, through the email provided in the
registration, the result of the selections, with a minimum period of two weeks before the start of the
contest, in addition to publishing the selection on its official website, previously being able to disseminate in networks
social media, for promotional purposes, those progressively selected, communicating it to them in the same
time of said publication.
The Festival will facilitate transportation from the closest train, bus or airport station to Pilar de la
Drilled to the projection room, so that the creator or representative of the selected work
can attend the presentation of said work on the day of its exhibition to the public.
The selected works must be sent in a digital format suitable for screening, along with the rest
promotional material for the feature film.
8.- The prize for this contest will be awarded by the public attending the screenings, by voting.
9.- The feature films in the "FEATURE FILMS 'OPERA PRIMA' SECTION" will compete for the "BEST PILAR AWARD
FEATURE FILM 'OPERA PRIMA' 2023”.
The Public, with its vote, will award the following prize:
- “PILAR DE ORO” TO THE BEST FEATURE FILM 'OPERA PRIMA', endowed with €750 in cash + statuette.
The winner will be announced at the PILAR 2023 AWARDS Delivery Gala, which will be held on the 18th
November 2023 in Pilar de la Horadada (Alicante).
10.- The nominees for the awards will be invited by the organization to the Closing Gala and delivery of
Pilar Awards 2023. To facilitate your attendance, the expenses of two nights of accommodation will be covered (Friday 17 and Saturday 18 November), maintenance on Saturday 18 November and, if required, service of
Transfer from the closest bus, train or airport station to the celebration of the Gala of
awards. Therefore, there must be representation of the technical or artistic team, preferably
the person nominated, of the short film that opts for the award in any of the categories.
11.- The decision of the public vote is final. If there were no participants, the follow-up was
lower than expected, or the quality of the works was not the minimum required by the Festival, the prizes could
declare themselves void Likewise, if any of the winners does not meet the requirements established in these
bases, the prizes corresponding to them could be declared void.
12.- The transfer of rights of the works for their free exhibition will be exclusively for the projections
included in the "Feature Films 'Opera Prima' Section". The winning feature film may also be screened
again in an additional session after the Festival, on a date to be determined, in order to publicize
among the public to the winners. The producers and directors of the feature films authorize, by the fact
registration, the promotional actions of the festival allowing the projection of a maximum of three
minutes of their work submitted for dissemination in any media, for the sole purpose
advertising of the Festival in any of its editions.
13.- The award-winning feature films in each edition may be screened later, within future
Festival programming, in order to commemorate past editions in shows such as the
called "Cortopilar Classics", always in sessions with free admission and non-profit.
14.- The material received from the feature films that are selected will be filed in the
Festival newspaper library.
15.- The participants are responsible for ensuring that the feature films presented are not subject to any
legal claim and are within the provisions of the Intellectual Property Law. In any
case, the organization of the festival declines all kinds of responsibility for the possible illegal content of the
works received.
16.- The Festival may award any honorable mention not specified in these rules and not
will maintain any feedback about the works presented or their decisions with the participants, who,

17.- The Festival will carry out communication, publicity and promotion tasks in the best possible way
of all events, activities and programming through its official website: www.cortopilar.com and
social networks, Instagram: @cortopilar, Facebook: www.facebook.com/cortopilar, as well as advertising on
regional media of television, radio, press, etc.
18.- Participation in the contest implies full acceptance of all sections of these rules, as well as
as the resolution, by the organization, of any problem not foreseen in them.
19.- Cash prizes will be subject to the corresponding tax withholdings.
20.- The organization reserves the right to modify these bases if necessary,
communicating any relevant changes to the participants. The organization reserves the right to
modify the dates of the festival if for reasons beyond its control it is forced to do so.
