The Coffee Film Awards is a non-profit initiative by London-based Allegra Group. Our mission is to make a positive difference in the world. There is a deep connection between the incredible world of film and the world of coffee, and we intend to bring these two worlds even closer. All works must have a clear relation to coffee or coffee culture.

The project will provide a spotlight on the incredible talent of filmmakers and generate valuable connections and introductions via our extensive networks.

All selected films will be shown across Allegra Group’s nine international coffee festivals* including London, Los Angeles, Paris, Toronto, Sao Paulo, and of course, New York with a combined audience of over 100,000 visitors.

*subject to COVID-19 restrictions.

Cash Prizes: 5,000€

There are five different categories, but the only category that will take the grand cash prize is the Independent Short Film category.

Others categories will also be acknowledge but with no remunerative prize attached:

All submitted works for The Coffee Film Awards must be inspired by the theme of coffee or coffee culture. Applications will be judged by a joint film industry panel and senior creative leaders from the coffee sector.

Filmmakers register to take part in a chosen award category then receive confirmation and further information via email.

For the Independent Short Film Category:

The main guidelines to qualify for this category are:

All films submitted must be made by independent filmmakers only

Innovative and budget film making is encouraged (iPhones, SLRs, etc)

All films must have a coherent connection to coffee or coffee culture and be non-commercial in nature

Film length: 3 minutes minimum - 5 minutes maximum

All works must be new work produced after January 2021.
